As a pansexual woman, I've come to hate Pride. It's turned from a celebration of the LGBT community to nothing more than a way for companies to say "See? See? We love LGBT!" while ignoring the countries that make it illegal to be LGBT. Blizzard edits it's game content so it can sell in China, a place where it's illegal to have representations of LGBT in media. It's the same with Disney. They'll scream that they're inclusive but they will do anything they can to make their "representation" as milquetoast as possible so it'll be easy to edit out to get those sweet, sweet China bucks. Most big corporations are like this these days. Hell, in some countries in the Middle East, being gay or trans is punishable by death. Are you going to stop offering servers for those countries, Blizz? Or are you going to keep burying your head in the sand and editing your content so you can keep that cash flowing in?This is just like suddenly making Chromie trans after literal years of saying that her dragon name was a mistake. It's cheap and demeaning. It's the Blizzard logo in rainbow and that's it. Didn't we see the same "design" last year? Don't give me that crap that it's a "labor of love". There was no labor to this. It's just a cop-out to try and appear "woke" and, personally, if that's the best you can do, then just stop. It's getting really pathetic.
Just opinion: Doesn't matter if it is good faith by the employees, the company is hugely against even basic human rights at times, even if you don't agree with LGB, then again, we buy stuff made from child labor mined minerals and don't bat an eye, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't call out hypocrites. I don't agree with some of the internets ideals in this situation but a company cant both be against and for something like this and it is reasonable for people to point it out.. Personally, I believe if you work with an immoral company in a certain area, your opinion about that topic in regards to your workplace holds no weight if it is different then your employers actions. This is not an attack against this employee but just and opinion based on the facts in front of me, personally, I am going to turn off blizzard articles on wowhead so I can focus on the game content.
This is so sad, they are under fire so they are pushing the LGBTQ employees to the front as a human shield. Honestly, I'd give them a free pass if there was any evidence that players who are reported for homophobic abuse in game are punished and not just hidden from the reporter.
8 characters in Blizzard.1 character to a new color for each hour of the work day.Brilliant.

It’s hard to call a recolor a “labor” but ok
The design is a bit lazy, like the usual rainbow corpo-logos that any other company would use, but at the same time I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing. If there is a market push to appeal to LGBT+ people, that means public opinion is surely turning towards accepting that group. It's difficult to not be of two minds about this considering recent developments in the world and specifically in the games industry, so I'm just going to choose to be happy that- even if I think this is cynical to some degree- I think its great that marginalized people are... y'know. Being treated as people. And I'm just a straight white dude, although a neurodivergent. To all the LGBT+ peeps who've gone this far through the comments: You're valid as a person and nobody can truly take that from you. Remember that. (I don't care if this isn't relevant. We need kindness.)
2021 Blizzard is defined by its greed. This greed will co-opt anything and everything you love or identify with as long as it makes a profit. In the late 80s, urban hip-hop culture was counterculture. By the mid to late 90s, this culture became swept up into mainstream capitalism and McDonald's and Sprite started delivering ads with — you guessed it, hip-hop beats. We are in the midst of the same thing happening with LGBTQ+ identity. Blizzard is a corporate entity, and as such is not capable of values or morals. Blizzard certainly has employees with values and morals, but those don't have to be the same and are often at odds. Ask yourself what this is doing for anybody of any identity. Removed
They're cool items. As an Ally, I wish they released similar ones of logs from their titles such as a Rainbow Horde, or Alliance logos, or an Overwatch one, etc... Kinda missed Opportunity.
