I like this guy's style.
What about the guild tabard achievement? Any plans on that actually working any time soon?
I lol'd
I'm tired of people looking at guild rewards as something they personally can achieve.UR doin it wrong if you're mad at Blizz b/c you can't quickly craft 25K flasks. The whole point is to reward the entire guild entity, not just a few people's efforts.In short, go to video: Do Less
That is a pretty amusing post.I would like to add a suggestion though. Make the guild rep scale so that you get roughly the same amount regardless of level (possibly less at lower levels, but for the love of all that is holy not 1 rep per quest).The linear Guild Rep scaling is just...dumb.
HAHA! That was pretty funny. :)
So killing 50k critters is not enough to get a pub? noo, you also have to be exalted with your guild.. which takes a lot longer than .. for ever?The system is messed up, I think the original idea was good.. but a couple of developers and decision makers later it just got bad... :(
They're seriously defending the @#$%ed up GXP system.Christ.
I stand by my suggestion from the previous blog post.
While I think that guild rep COULD be earned a tad faster...it is extremely un-reasonable to expect to be able to level your alts through your own personal "guild," and still get guild benefits. This is designed for a collective group of people working as a team. This was made to give guilds more incentive to work together, and learn cohesion. To promote interest in guild groups...rather than painful pugs. To keep those raid members coming back, and motivated to work together.Here Blizzard does something nice for guilds, and we're spitting in their face. If anything, I'd rather have the dungeon finder re-worked. Now THAT is a pain in the...neck. Any scrub can queue for a heroic, and weight the group down forever (anyone here seen a 2K DPS in a heroic? *raises hand*). You leave a bad group, and you're punished with a cooldown. You can't vote baddies out until a certain time limit has expired, and THEN you, personally, can't initiate but one vote-kick. People "DC" on purpose, etc. The LFG tool is botched a bit, I think. I personally stopped queuing for random heroics, and my guild is never on when I am, at the moment. And I'm a healer, I can only imagine what its like for the DPS people out there,waiting 45min. a queue.
Lol! While I do agree there should be a bit more tweaking with guild rep, it's not THAT bad. Kudos to the GM for making the idiot look like more of an idiot.
@christabelle Totally agreed!45 minutes would be a blessing, hun. Try 60 - 75 minutes...

I'm revered with my guild on my rogue, Xenen(Eitrigg if anyone really needs to look it up...). It really didn't take much to do it. I mean, between grinding rep for the new factions and doing the PvP honor grind, not to mention leveling to 85 and gearing up the toon for PvE, the guild rep came on it's own. Sure, it will take another month or 2 to hit exalted, but hell, the game just came out! There have been longer grinds... Anyone remember how rep grinds were in Vanilla? People just need to relax. The guild xp is kind of the same. I'm in a level 11 guild and there's usually only about 10 - 15 of us on at any one time... in the wee hours, a lot less. But, we cap every day and every week. Wrath really spoiled a bunch of you, didn't it...
Seriously, I don't really get you guys.The LFG tool is for speeding up the waiting time to get into a dungeon. If you don't like it, would you rather go back to the original system searching for toons in the trade channels? Well, you CAN do that now aswell, and it takes just about the same time to get a proper tank then before. And there were plenty of noobs in those times aswell. Have you got another solution for the queues? Shall Blizzard check how good you're playing? Shall he check the percentage of wiping or what? Time played? There'd be so many problems with these. It's just good the way it is, but nevertheless there's nothing better yet.The Guild Reputation System is for giving awards to a guild for their efforts. If you're part of a guild, AND you do a lot of stuff along with your guild mates, you get those rewards. If not, then you just get the normal stuff JUST LIKE BEFORE. I'm happy I'm a part of a guild and I work along with them, and I'm really happy Blizzards actually rewards this. If you're only online when the rest of the guild is not, why are you in that guild? Or why to be in a guild anyways if you're practically do NOTHING in it? Or if it's just temporary (like in my case now, for example), just wait the time for to return.I mean, both of the so-much-criticised stuff are optional.
I agree that the guild rep/xp system really isn't all that bad. I also agree it could use a bit of tweaking- i would personally like to see my alts get some kind of benefit from my main's progress in the guild, for example. I do think it's a bit crazy that the armadillo pet requires exalted with guild rep after you've killed 50,000 critters- but still, not a huge deal. While I have some minor issues with the system, I also agree with this post-
