Its hilarious how quick they are to make changes to the game that they deem as a problem. Wish they would be like this for most of the issues that plague the majority of BFA :/
While I agree you shouldn't steamroll on anyone just for having 15 more ilvl than them... You should still have an edge. Players of equal gear need skill to sort them... and so players of equal skill should need gear to sort them.Right now, increasing your stats through gems is suboptimal, and anyone at blizzard who is fine with that belongs in an asylum.
At the moment the only thing we know is that the workaround was hot fixed. The workaround that cost ridiculous amounts of gold and disrupts the economy (by making gems rarer and more expensive). In this case the workaround is probably worse than the original issue. You could workaround the gem issue by void-storing your gear to remove the gems *once* and then put them back later. That would expensive, but it would be one-time only.We also don't know what the relative complexity is between fixing Rextroy's workaround and fixing PvP Gem Scaling, and given that the latter has been in the game for all of BfA, it makes sense to take time to make sure a fix doesn't have unexpected consequences.Given that the original 0.6 ilvl gain was probably balanced around when player ilvls were 100 points lower, it may have been that the lowered effectiveness is only a consequence of current scaling, and originally it was still an overall improvement.I know everyone's an armchair developer around here, but seriously, these things aren't always as easy as you think.
Well done, this prove how genius these devs are, instead of fixing the main problem, they fix how to avoid the problem, that's why your game is dying Activision.
All these people saying they don't fix the "main problem" when this clearly shows they don't see it as a problem at all. I don't even care about rated pvp and this alone is making me lose whatever little hope for SL I had left. Also anyone who thinks you shouldn't get an unfair advantage in pvp with superior gear... careful blizz might underpay you to make more terrible design choices.
Delete PVP scaling. This should not exist.
What in the actual F are they thinking ..... punishment for getting sockets was intended I guess ? lol
Hey Ion maybe listen to the playerbase and remove PVP scaling entirely when people like Rextroy and others prove that this system is stupid and is broken/flawed idea.
maybe they should just make pvp gear and stop @#$%ing around with dumb ass scaling
Rexytroy couldve saved an awful lot of gold if he was a jewelcrafter. Since they can build the Jewelhammer that allows the user to unsocket their own gems.
Fixing this issue and allowing PvP scaling to exists is like putting a band-aid in a necrotic limb.
Working as intended. Blizzard's finally living their dream of making PvP bad and not even being shy about it.
