Raid gear is a huge step up from uldir.
Well they are getting better, honestly, the heritage sets that came out looked great and these are a little better, it's about time Blizzard got off their butt and get some new artists. FF14 has some AMAZING armor, there is no excuse why Blizzard can't do that and get rid of the dang recolors, is it that hard to make each class/spec to have their own?You know we had CLASS MOUNTS, I would GIVE ANYTHING if we could have REALLY COOL CLASS/SPEC ARMOR. IMO I would give up a raid tier to get great looking armor for a change.
I was drooling over the raid sets...and then I got to mail. It was rather jarring to see those gorgeous plate, cloth, and leather and sets then trip over that underwhelming mail one. Really though, the others are great, and how about those PvP sets? Magnificent.
Thanks Blizz for that wonderful mail set, simply stunning.
There has to be a problem with the Mail set, it way too different from the other 3. Looks like LFR gear or whateverWarfront's Alliance sets are really nice too.
Damn the Alliance sets are garbage.
The pvp sets look so %^&*ing awful lmao
Mail set makes me sad. All three are the weakest of the bunch by far.
The mail gear is pathetically bad, was this what we lost tier sets for? They said it allowed them more freedom to focus on making them cool and all we've had so far is garbage after garbage, the only decent looking mail set for me in 8.1 is the horde pvp elite/warfront forsaken one.
Finally, horde pvp leather set which is looking extremely goooood. Thx blizz
Most of the tike i really hate leather tmog from raids, but this one looks nice.
Why does alliance not get anything Black? I mean black is not the Horde faction colour anyway, so i don't get it why i need to keep running around in Blue...
That Alliance plate helmet would be a nightmare to fight in. Looking cool, though. ;)
Oh for !@#$s sake, first armor ever that looks like a coat and it's Horde only.
Those sets look awesome, much better than tier 1, especially raid sets :)
Worth mentioning that especially the PvP sets shown are using the tier 1/2 version (like the current Gladiator ones we have on live) with much less detail and 3D elements. The tier 3 versions of the sets have a lot more details (eg. the horde mail tier 3 variant has a full mail hauberk as seen in the 8.1 reveal artwork).
I feel this is ultimately one of the problems with such a huge proportion of Blizzard developers playing Horde. Like them or not, the Forsaken sets are unmistakably "Forsaken" and, when viewed on undead models, clearly show a lot of passion for the race and their aesthetics. (That Leather set is amazing!)For the Night Elve set - I actually like the cloth set, but it's hugely apparent across all of them that the designer didn't have a passion or love for the Night Elves in the same way. Considering how distinct night elve culture, history and style is there's NONE of that in the sets. Even the "human" themed from the first season showed a lot more racial distinction and love. These NE armours look phoned in and generic enough that they could just be dungeon sets.
The Mail set doesn't seem to be Mythic enough in comparison. It's really dull.
As always.. 1st place plate, 2nd cloth, 3rd leather.... AND THEN at the bottom of the sea.. Mail sets :x..
