Please don't be like me on day 1 going all "OOOO NEW CONTENT" and knocking out half of those weeklies
I got a 382 ilvl weapon from the Siege last night.
Grand hunts are still dropping loot outside of the weekly rare drop, but at a lower rate. The quality of the loot bag drops each time you do the hunt. From rare to uncommon then common. The map icon will not show the possibility of the common loot bag, but you will get multiple from a single hunt cycle. I believe 1 per phase your participate in.Edit: Currently it is 1 per hunt, I got multiple for an unknown reason. At common quality these bags contain gold, trophies, and a very low chance of a piece of gear.I got 4 this morning, 1 had a rare recipe for armor kits, 1 had a 366 chest piece. I was average ilvl 362 prior to the drop.
i didnt even get gear from grand hunts
What's really interesting is: How far do they scale? When people are ilvl capped, will they still be doing these events hoping to roll one at max lvl with a bonus stat?
Paw, based on interview with ian i would suspect they cap at normal or even heroic raid ilvl. he said he wanted outdoor content to reward (slowly) ilvl gear that's not 30 ilvl behind raiders anymore but more like 15 but again the idea is it happens granularly over time and not like fiasco pre hotfix where people were fully geared in hours due to missing loot lock bugraiding, M+, and PVP should still be best place to get max ilvl and the fastest, but outdoor content should allow even casual player to eventually catch up (minus 15ilvl) over a few weeks. That's gist I understood.so yeah I'd bet the outdoor will scale to raid gear minus 15, but what difficulty is hard to say.
It is a %^&* way of distributing loot at the start of an expansion; I noticed that as i was leveling up; my previously geared main was consistently getting better ilvl loot for doing exactly the same content at exactly the same time.Doing all the m0, one guildie was lucky with rng and is now 370+ and getting higher ivl loot drops; having done the same m0 and been unlucky i am at 355 and not.Its probably only an issue for the first couple of weeks, after which the rng will even out, but it does take the edge off the new shiney
What about the ring from the cobalt assembly? Grab a few friends and grind your way to Tier 4 and there you go - iLvl 389And don't forget to get the reputation boost from the skill tree there.
Am I the only one that finds the weekly events somewhat inaccessible? There are icons on the map, but when I fly to the area (edit: while the event is supposed to be active), no quest pops up, no mobs are marked as quest/progress mobs, and generally speaking I don't see ways to start things. Do you have to be in the zone exactly at start time? Do you need to complete some prerequisites?Entirely possible I'm just being dense or spacing out on something basic, but at least from a messaging/awareness perspective, these don't seem especially obvious.
Just wondering if none of this was discovered during Beta or most of the people who were playing Beta were just playing the fancy new game without actually reporting / adding feedback? 🤔Adding to the short list of "Just one item, doesn't matter much" but looks like that short is only getting bigger and bigger and one item from each of these DO make a difference when start counting them all 😮
Ummm, you still need to get your average item level up... so M0s are the best way to gear up. They give you access to higher ilvl loot from rares.
People are putting way too much stock into the gear available right now. It's all going to be considered rubbish and useless as soon as any content where gear actually matters is released.Just play the game instead of treating it like a job where you're working overtime on reset night.
Does the Grand Hunt loot roll when you open the bag or when you get it? I was in the area of a hunt, did not participate at all, and got the epic bag on a sub-70 alt. Should I be holding it to open at 70 or does it not matter?
I can confirm it scales even higher, I got a 386 1h weapon from a rare last night.
While this article is probably true, I just wanted to point out that I think Blizzard are repeatedly changing rare epics and their loot item levels; I killed the same rare and got a LOWER ilvl version of the same item from the kill 24 hours prior.Whatever strategy works today might not work tomorrow.
