IMO, it's better to just go to RIO and see what the best players are wearing. That or Subcreation
The list is outdated. Marksman list has been adjusted in the guide.
The 'very best drops from the raid', the 'rarest drops' etc... Why would my SV Hunter WASTE a dinar on that 'simple' weapon, when we all know that M+ dungeons is way easier to get better items on some slots.Take the Weapon slot for SV Hunters for example (and maybe Druids, Monks, any spec/class that can equip 2h agility). The Reclaimed Shock Coil is a very good alternative. No haste on SV, but from what I'm seeing personally, and before that, from most higher ilvl people, it's specially is very good. These guides should weight also the fact that people might swap in between specs, and look in the long term of things, beyond SL and etc. BM and MM will definitely want to get Sylvanas' bow, so one of the HUNTER's dinars should Definitely go to the ilvl upgrade item. Second, the cloak, that even SV can make use of, although with less shots (Serpent Sting IS a shot), and lastly, a trinket. SL is almost over, we don't know if Blizz would 'block' the effects of covenant powers beyond it, as we've seen with most past expansions' 'borrowed power', so a future Timewalking use of something like The First Sigil would be 'wasted dinar'. In Mythic+ you always have the option to pick up the versatility buff (I even pick it up on some dungeons on my SV, for more flat damage dealt and less received overall). You can more easily get a 'versatility' trinket from Iron Docks (farm it till you get it and level it up easier than raid trinkets, unless you raid heroic/mythic a lot). Those lists are assuming mostly that the person will ONLY raid this season, which is 99% untrue. Most people will do M+ first to get more ilvl then head in for Normal/Heroic/Mythic raid, I've seen this for years. As for my SV, I've picked up the most 'useful' trinket for all 3 specs (as I can/will play them), the Decanter of Endless Howling gives crits, but one other trinket helping with crits (along with the above weapon extra), the Agility we get is huge, and if below 50% we even help healers with even more self healing. DPS? Man, talk about critted bombs on packs of monsters. Most Specs with high aoe are on longer CDs (WW monks, MM hunters), SV is an AoE power house every pull, and with ST buffs, those just need to use SS more, specially on spread monsters. Most people focus only on the Raptor Strike/Mongoose Bite damage for ST, when SS helps it a lot, if they're smart enough. In the End, weight more stuff into those 3 dinars than only 'tunneling' for 1 spec, for example. I'm focusing on the Quiver (cloak), already picked the crit+agility+healing trinket and maybe the Legendary bow upgrade item.
Demonology should definitely spend dinars on Gavel and/or Jaithys for their Felguards.
For Warlocks its Rygelon dagger, jailor off hand, shadowed Orb, or maybe Hymnal from Sire. Or if you're a chad just coin a Gavel and let your Felguard play with it (with the glyph your Felguard can use the skin of 2 Handed wpns in your bags).
You shouldn't gear your character based off of someone else's setup.Remember, everyone has a different playstyle that works for them. I found this out myself many many many years ago when tanks were stacking Stamina. I got one-shotted by Onyxia at the start of the fight and my tanking playstyle changed forever since that unfortunate and disappointing incident. For the best results in finding out what your character needs; SIM YOUR CHARACTER CORRECTLY and then gear accordingly. It has worked for me ---> 15 Years Paladin tanking and counting. And may the RNG Gods be ever in your favor.
