THANK you.
Haha, this game. I was missing some ap to get neck to 50 before 8.2, almost tempted to grind it up but then I realized there is no damned reason to do that as they will probably nerf it right away. And they did. Nothing in this game takes time and effort anymore. I bet if log in a month from now, ill get mythic lvl gear without stepping into mythic raids in two weeks of playing. Catch up mechanics ftw.
And in response to the question on who doesnt like getting things for free. Its like with anything else. If you give everybody rewards, they are not rewarding anymore. And if you first let them struggle to get something that you will hand out to everybody afterwards, it just undermines your motivation to do anything.
The problem is that nothing lasts very long. If you grind for something hard it only persists for a few weeks until it is superceded by nerfs and catch-up. So why grind? The only people that would have some gain in grinding are those that can monetize their slight headstart via streams or not-TOS-conform behavior. Why would anyone else grind except if in extreme boredom?
Blizz should ban all the @#$% talkers just to watch them writhe in agony when they cant log in and play a game they hate so much yet are so addicted to. I come here to see discussions about game content, not negative garbage cause its not catering to what you want personally. If anything kills wow, its this toxic player base. You children need to find another game and let the rest of us enjoy ourselves. With that said, I'm stoked for this week. AK grind commencing!
Incoming "getting more levels faster was a bug". This is one thing I hope I am wrong on and it is indeed a change.
On the opposite. I enjoy challenging content. I just feel like the only reason to do it is the challenge, not the reward. Which I see as a big issue in rpg game. Challenge and effort both contribute to the feelings of satisfaction associated with reward. But things are obtainable so easily that you dont have to put any effort into it. And when youre clearing hc raid where you get zero upgrades already during the second clear, then something seems wrong to me. I lured friend to mine into subscribing, after two weeks, he had all the gear and stuff cleared except for mythic raid anf over +15 keystones. So the catch up mechanics dont really help you catch up, but zerg through the current content. And that, I think, is wrong.
If I play an RPG on the hardest difficulty I do not do it to get a trophy or an achievement on steam, I do it because(and "if" in case of potential balance issues) I enjoy the challenge instead of going an easier route. In the vast majority of RPGs I will never get any reward for for completing it like that, and when I do it may be something to use New Game+ which I could care less for and even more rarely maybe a slight alteration to the ending. Do you honestly care that someone gets the same ending at the end of the game because they picked Normal, or dare I say EASY difficulty and ran with that? The fact you put any stock into the rewards shows that your priorities lie there, the challenge is but a bonus to make your rewards feel more exclusive and "better".
Nice, because I hate AP grind.
Did they really just make a jump of 4 AK levels? Big leap... but it's so hard to tell. I really wish there was an in game indicator of current AK level and it's current potency, like we had in Legion. For the sake of clarity, I would like to be able to view that information in game.
Nice change, i approve!
This is why I’ve been saying since day 1 of BfA not to grind AP. They always do this and make all past effort meaningless for players. And here is the proof. I have never grounded AP and I’m probably right at the same level as those who did. Don’t fall for their games in the future!
