As a collector I am really glad this is happening. Hope this happens to all removed mounts/pets in the future. Never found any appeal to items being removed in the first place.
I'm never going to forgive myself for splurging on Bananas just months ago..Dear drunk me, please leave BMAH alone.I'm ALL about that sloth bud though <3Donations ahoooyy!
Not sure if this is still going on or available to do - does anyone have info for where to go/ how to link or verify a donation made to MSF to get the sloth pet? Thanks!
Dang, I paid good money for my Bananas back in the day. I guess there were literally no other animals in the multiverse they could have thought of other than one that already existed.
That sloth baby is so adorable :O Need it <3
Not sure about the selection of charity, considering Medecines Sans Frontieres staff were guilty of spending money on prostitutes in Africa in 2018!Why not support critically endangered animals, as Blizzard are using the sloth and gorilla to promote this?
So what happens if the stretch goal isn't reached, will Blizzard revert to the way charity pets used to be made available and just put the sloth on the store?
Bad idea with Bananas, all of us TCG hoarders, you really kill the value of this Pet blizzard/activision, keep the pet a rarity.
Is it confirmed that this is the exact same TCG pet, and has the same item/NPC ID? Or is it a Landro's Lil' XT/Lil' XT situation, whereby the pets are identical, but are technically separate entities?
As someone who has a lot from the TCG, I don't mind in the least. I'm really happy with this model, because it's helping a good cause and rewarding people who might not have an additional 10-20 bucks to spare on this (I'm usually that person but since I was donating some to charity anyway it may as well go to DWB!) I've never understood miser style protecting things from people. As much as I love my Fel Drake it wouldn't tilt me if others had it, would be nice to see so many :3 And now I can name my monkey Furious George and have him fight other monkeys.
Blizzard couldn't just make 2 new pets? This shows just how much blizzard cares about charities. 0 effort involved.
even from a purely logical point of view, if you try to sell a charity item that the people MOST likely to spend money on an in-game pet might already have, you will sell fewer pets. You'll still sell pets, because lots of people were unwilling or unable to either gamble on getting Bananas or paying scalper prices for him, but you won't sell as many as if you made literally billions of other possible pets. You could have painted him orange, called him "Oranges: Bananas' weird neighbor." and I would have given you the money for one. Too lazy to take my money.
Blizzard: "We are giving away this pet to support charity."Some players: "F charity. I paid good digital currency for that pet. F you and all those people who need medical care."Folks, you are getting your knickers in a knot over the wrong issues.
Do we have a link to donate? I see a generic donate button on their site, but is there a Blizzard link so it counts for the campaign?
My heart just melted the moment I saw that sloth. Get off your bottoms people, and get that stretch goal reached. NOW! =P
