Nobody is crying its just a game, it didn't really happen
Damn, Jaina will finish BfA with a lot of back pain, after carrying the Alliance on her back for the whole expansion.
Just great I get to help Jain kill more Sunreavers.
story would have been cooler if after the burning the nelfs were the ones rebelling against the alliance - let THEM have some in-fighting for a change
"where is Sylvanas' apology for outright abandoning them on the Broken Shore with no warning?"she sounded retreat, and in time, which we know bcs they DID manage to get to the airship, Varian included... i honestly think Genn only blames horde for it bcs if he didnt he would have to admit Varian had the guts to sacrifice himself to save others while he did not..."it's naïve and honestly a little adorable that people suggest that talking to Sylvanas would have somehow done anything to alleviate any "concerns" she might have" perhaps not, but for a faction that is soo much about diplomacy and peace, not punishing Genn or at least condemning this actions was HUGE diplomatic overstep... if he was stripped of his military rank it would show horde that unprovoked attacks will not be tolerated, letting it slide showed them faction attacks will be ok as long as its alliance attacking..."There's this unresolved issue of thousands of non-combatants burning to death"there are many unresolved issues, for example murder or aresting of craploads of sunreavers, jainas attempt to level orgrimmar and others, so there would be a lot of blame and apologising to go around :D and if you wanna argue that there was a lot less dead sunreavers, perhaps, but they didnt have several days for evacuation, they were attacked straight away without any warning..."when Blight Queen sits atop the throne, after what she did, the Alliance can never really rest"can horde rest easily knowing Genn, who is willing to go against explicit orders to attack horde in time of truce is whispering into Anduins ear?
There are three potential outcomes for this war:1. The Horde massacre enough Alliance resources to become the sole superpower. Even if they stop at that, between paranoia from Alliance and warmongering of the Horde, eventually conflict will erupt again until either the Alliance is eliminated or we're brought back to square one.2.The Alliance massacre enough Horde resources to become the sole superpower. Even if they stop at that, between paranoia from Horde and warmongering of the Alliance, eventually conflict will erupt again until either the Horde is eliminated or we're brought back to square one.3. Both factions are secure that knowing their resources and civilians won't be massacred whenever the other faction finds it convenient. That means no more cowardly acts of old revenge. That means no more clandestine operations in the other faction's territories. That means no more wanton slaughter of races just because 'they're not officially fully aligned'. The third option can only happen if leaders from BOTH factions make efforts to make amends across the aisle. We already know Saurfang, Baine, and soon to be Lor'themar have been making these efforts. Thus, it is the responsibility of various Alliance leaders to apologize and retreat their forces, to strengthen the argument of the anti-war Horde leaders enough to either force Sylvanas to end the war, or oust her.
"You guys keep forgetting about other perspectives than your own. From the Alliance's perspective, they were abandoned. They could not see that things were going awry for the Horde, and because the story is what it is, no envoy was sent to inform the Alliance that the retreat was necessary. "as i said, they heard the retreat signal, they managed to get back to the airship, Varians sacrifice cannot be blamed on horde, and not to mention without the retreat, they would ALL be still there when guldan with reinforces came in, soo it basicaly saved their lives (genns ungratefull ass too), and not to forget it was a trap partialy caused by SI7 incompetence..."It was stupid not to at least acknowledge and condemn it"this would completely suffice to give any horde members (saurfang included, which would be a massive difference) a reason to doubt necessity of war, without that it was clear what will be..."Oh, I assume you also meant to mention the nuking of an entire civilian druid enclave in Stonetalon?"as i said much &*!@ to go around"The list will be even longer if we start listing "attempts at" things that didn't end up happening."well attempt at leveling orgrimar is a bit different bcs it WOULD happen without interception from Thrall and Kalec, its not like Jaina changed her mind... but its debatable for sure"The difference here is that the Nelves had made no provocation" well, neither did sunreavers, couple of them, sure, but 99% of them didnt even know something happened before they were attacked by their very neighbours..."If you think Genn's actions reflect every other aspect of the Alliance"well jainas purge of dalaran and attemp to level orgrimmar, Genn in stormheim, Anduin ignoring it, and also Anduin sending soldiers to MURDER civilian miners in silithus (not stopping the mining effort by destroying equipment or capturing miners, but outright killing them, without any viable reason), thats 3 alliance leaders right from the top of my head... "I would be more than willing to take the word of someone whose actions directly caused Varian to spare the Horde in Mists"can you elaborate? i cant really figure this one out, what do you mean? fact is, he is willing to go agains orders and reason bcs of personal vengance... dont get me wrong, thats valid reason to go against SYLVANAS (thats why i think what he did in vault of Eyir was well deserved, although condemning the whole race to slowly die out bcs of personal vengance can be seen a bit rough too) but not against horde as such... (though, Garrosh ordered attack on Gilneas, so its not completely on her either...)as someone playing for both sides, i think if theres EVER going to be a lasting peace, we gotta get rid of both sylvanas and genn, but both are unlikely :D
I double dare y'all to mention "grey morality" again. It should be obvious even for the blind and deaf that blizzard are doing their best to keep the Alliance "white and clean" while moving their favourite characters out of the Horde to show how bad it and Sylvanas are. It's actually ridiculous how poor the writing is and how zealously some people are protecting it. I wouldn't even mind if they turned Sylvanas into Garrosh 2.0 since they both made objectively more good for the Horde than Thrall aka the green hippie.
Where's Thrall's Doomhammer?edit: yeah, retired.
