a few ppl have been saying even the LW barding wont work in the new areas
Yes but what about next xpac when we're back to ground mounts for close to a year ? What about next patch when we get a new argus-like zone where we can't ever fly ? What about rerolls ?
So...how long before they remove class-specific water-walking abilities and things like Hand of Freedom to remove dazing?I was fine with water striders not being the only mount that could walk on water anymore because I'd like to be able to pick my mounts based on aesthetics rather than having literally every ground mount that wasn't a water strider be objectively inferior. But this is straight-up bad design and creating problems to sell solutions.
Personally I think it was getting too easy to avoid being dazed. Having said that, there does seem to be greater mob density throughout the game as zones are getting more compressed. There's also more ground clutter with collision, and small slopes that you can't climb. Often it's impossible to navigate between the terrain and the mobs. Definitely the old system of using a road isn't as safe as it used to be. Blizzard have to be careful that simply getting around doesn't become a nuisance.
i believe when using the Heirloom Mount ( Chauffeured Chopper ) you can't be dazed either, but im not 100% Sure
I'm sad about this change, it does seem a bit malevolent to the players...but...the player base has been a bit mean to Blizz lately, like really mean and I know they make a few mistakes and bad dissensions but they do get a lot of very negative and rude feed back, poke a tiger enough and it's gonna bite your hand off eventually...and daze you.
Not all who wander are dazed.
There's was no problem with absorbs preventing dazed for a while, until Blizzard made it a problem with this useless mount equipment system no one asked about...
Reasonable change but in the same time so pointless. It just made people salty. Yes, ultimately shielding every 30 secs from Azerite armor gives you anti-daze effect even right now and they removed it for the saddle to be useful instead of neverbought because "I can equip the piece with permashield anyway". But still meh.
It seems Blizzard is following the motto of every government everywhere, "If it aint broke, fix it until it is." Creating solutions to problems that never existed and then creating the problems after the fact to justify the solution is not going to make anyone happy. None of this really affects me. I main a tank, so no daze. My main is an engineer so no parachute needed since my cloak is a glider. I have the artifact fishing pole so I can already easily waterwalk without a special mount and I get water breathing and increased swim speed as well. With all of that said I hate this change because it limits choice and it sets a bad precedent. What would be better, marginally, is if the equipment were per mount and not per character. I would not want to have to choose which bonus all of my mounts were locked into. They should let us put the water shoes on one, the anti dazing thing on another and whatever else they want us to buy on another. That way we could choose which mount to use based on the situation we found ourselves in. Further, they need equipment that lets us interact with all world clickables while mounted so that we can mine, or herb, or other things without dismounting. They did that in WoD if you had the garrison stable if I remember correctly. Make all of these items craftable by the professions that can currently craft the consumables these would replace and then remove the old consumables. It would also be nice if they would just let us fly at max level again. Make us pay a bunch of gold and complete the zone story quests and zone exploration achievements and call it good. They could make it punishing to fly as well, put elite flying mobs that can dismount us which makes the parachute thing viable or slow us with no dismount if we choose the anti dazing option, but they need to just end the no flying BS as well. That would make flying versus land travel an interesting choice at least. In the end my fear is that Blizz will nerf out of existence everything that we come to rely on and replace it with vastly inferior systems. Limiting choice while telling us that they are increasing choice is a surefire way to upset a community which is already like a very dry field full of hay and gasoline waiting for a static charge.
Another "Fun detected"?
I am pretty sure that they will remove the tanks not being dazed thing too. Just give it a few days
Just why? Noone asked for this.. Fits BFA perfect. Removing #$%^ for no reason.
Im enraged! what kind of idiot came up with it? +1 more fukin annoyng stuff in this game
Like some have said, the issue is not the 'Dazed' effect itself. Its the game no longer respecting a phrase we could see on the loading screens: something like "Stick to the road, you'll encounter few or no enemies" stuff. Since Legion, this idea was shattered. On many roads you can see enemies walking over, past, above, below them. But what is even worse, they take longer to leash, you'll have to walk away farther for them to drop agro, than before, and THAT is the more annoying thing. Also, yeah, we'll get flying in 8.2 but, have you stopped to think about future stuff? We most probably will have a no-flying zone, or more, in BfA, and all these changes will be felt hardly. What about next expansions, we'll all be stuck to the ground most initial contents, again, with these new changes, just imagine. I wonder what the devs eat and drink to get these ideas. More, what the leaders at Blizz have in mind to get their own decisions, that impact all playerbase, instead of just go in democracy and call most playerbase and ask if that change will make sense, happy, or whatever. No, decision made, then implemented without people knowing, and they have to deal with it, be it correct or not. It's their game but if they really care with their playerbase, they should listen to them more, but we all know how things are working out.Even if the mount equipment were account bound, that change to the strider was dumb. Should just make it unavailable to use equipment in first place, like they did with the Golem. Both have unike perks. Also, making the equipment accound bound would be counterproductive. What if I want Water-walking one, but I play DK, shaman and hunter too (we got the barding stuff but they are locked to only work on their expansions, will we have to have one barding every expansion since legion)? What if I want the no-daze one and still want to play tank specs too? They really should hire new devs or people that can put the right questions and right people to make decisions, or hear the community before these QoL, as they are the ones paying.
