Boring....
Back in my day, it took an entire GUILD about TWO MONTHS of "grinding" an entire raid clear to get 1 person the mats for 1 legendary item. Finally equipping my first legendary felt amazing. Did you guys like that legendary system better? Only 1 in ~10 raiders get legendaries, and none for pvp or 5-mans or solo players? Or how about when it was a random 0.1% drop rate off a raid end boss, did you like that system? Should getting the guaranteed best in slot item, better than the best pvp item, better than the best mythic raid item drop, really be something you'll feel satisfied to finally equip, if you just run one 30 minute solo thing and you get guaranteed? I think most of the posters here are just whiners who want attention.
Torghast on the PTR is pretty fast now. Only 5 floors instead of 6 and the new cube, the talent tree, gives you powerful buffs that even makes it faster. If you are somewhat competent, you can breeze through torghast on the ptr 15 minutes with the new stuff. Your complaints about grinding is just uneducated whining.
god it sucks that you have to do things in video games to earn things
Now make rank 6 cost 1200 cinders. And while at it also make it so after you upgrade one legendary to rank 6, all next legendaries have upgrade cost halved for all characters on account.
I tried multiple times ro run rorghast today it a total disaster.hope 9.1 doesnt come out until sept because thats how long it's going to take from rank 2 to 4..maybe i will just not do torghast a screw the Lego its not worth it.
Can they just make a third version of WoW? Current Retail, Classic/TBC, Pleb Casual Version.First two stay as is, and the third version just give these troglodytes whatever gear/toys/mounts they want after picking from a drop down menu from each boar they kill or something.
It's so *!@#ing boring though. Honestly, no one minds a grind...in OPTIONAL and FUN content.
I don't think the new Torghast is boring (although after doing it for four months, probably that will change) but I was very confused on how to get a high score without speedrunning. After running it several times, I think I see how it can work ok to solo. The stuff you get on the tree from the Box is really quite good, and you can get points toward it EVERY TIME you run--which is awesome--even if it is not a good run. There are blessings which are great and there are some new anima powers. And some new features on the floors. It's still got some kinks in it, but please Blizzard clarify how to get a good score in the game before this goes live. Tip: be sure to pick up the autoloot as soon as you can since that will make your run much faster!
Wait do we no longer need the rank 2 thru 4 base item, or is that just implied here?
Yes we like that system because it is light years better than this. Those were actually legendaries. There was a process, combined effort and lore attached to them. And also they were not end all requirement for anyone. Retail legendaries are just orange affixes.ZOLDYCK INSIGNIA you ^&*!ing kidding me? Some anime reference is a legendary in freaking WARCRAFT.
The issue isn't that it's a grind - as has been stated, grinding is a staple of MMOs. The first issue is that according to the devs, Torghast is supposed to be a central feature (as opposed to say anima, which is very much intended to be a grind), but it just isn't fun. And worse, we know from earlier iterations of Torghast (and even twisting corridors) that they are very much capable of making it fun, but are choosing not to. The second issue is that it's tied to (borrowed) player power, needed for any/all end-game, but not tied to any of the end-game activities. If they wanted to make a cool rogue-like in-game they way they did with pokemon/battle pets, that would be a cool feature for those who would enjoy that type of activity (assuming it was just semi-overpowered fun the way it can be with enough good powers), but raiders and pvpers shouldn't be forced to do it to progress.
