Took them 14 years to add carousel to the fair. Now 15 years to change anything relevant to the auction house. Few more decades and they might even switch to this century's servers.
Undercuting by 1 copper like a filthy greedy poor person works for me
I’m not sure about the concerns about undercutting in the comments. unless I’m missing something, undercutting is still completely possible in exactly the same capacity that it was before, you can still list the price at whatever you want it to be, including just barely less than the current prices. The only real change here is that you don’t *have* to do that anymore if the only thing you’re trying to accomplish is simply selling your items before the rest of them
So basically with this system, instead of Undercutting you'll now have Reposting, congrats Blizz *slowclaps* You solved a problem by making a different problem... >.> This is why first come first served exists... But then you'd have Undercutting... I guess it is honestly too much to expect to fix an age-old problem of Real World economics in a Fantasy world x)
As someone pointed out already, making the latest addition to the AH that matches the lowest price the first one to be sold is the only way to make this make any sense. If it was the last one then that would mean that every single person ever would always undercut if they wanted to get their things sold. Now it might be a bit less hectic in that regard. I believe the hope in the system is that now undercutting will be more incentivized by the market itself rather than just trying to make your auction show up at the top of the list. People will still undercut, but because it doesn't affect whether your thing is sold first or not the main incentive will be to make it sell better. Sure you could in theory say that if you undercut that item will be at the top of the list for longer but it'll only be like that for anyone that happens to put an auction up roughly at the same time as you. Anyone that opens the list after you've done that will just put their item on sale with your price and thus get theirs sold before yours.
I am confused about how this is going to work. Instead of undercutting, why don't you just increase the price of said item? If it is first in, first out, eventually your listing will get to the top of the list and you will garner a higher price. What if someone lists an item at 1000g but it's really worth 100g? Can you list it at 100g and reset the price?

Really guys if u want to sell something u sell it cheaper hence undercutting, so if Blizz stoped that then all at same price? I dont think so- its called an Auction House for a reason,
The first in, first out on the same price thing will be nice to keep the price mostly stable on small markets, but bigger markets, it's just going to mean less people undercutting. Obviously, that's still good, but I don't think people really understand who this is good for. It's good for the seller, mostly, as it's going to make the market less competitive to the casual auctioneer, while simultaneously making it more competitive to goblins. I'll explain, if the hardcore goblin sets the market value of an item and the other casuals reinforce that value by posting at that price, then the hardcore goblins just need to snatch any undervalued stacks before the value tanks.tldr: This is nice change, but goblins are still going to be making mad gold after this. Nothing's really changing ultimately.
