Also - what about the vendor's rotation aspect... if you wanted to say target pirate boxes for the bird, how long are you waiting before those boxes show up on the vendor... I'd love to see the vendor just have them all at all times and not some weird weekly rotation, esp if they keep the cost as is, as ~1400 for a mount is /def/ more than the orig dubloon vendor...
hold up i thought ogres didn't drop anything? so why are they listed here?
I can confirm that mount drops from the Havenswood salvage
More RNG ... :')
There's already mounts/toys/xmog at the vendor. The element of luck and surprise is fine IN ADDITION to that.
RNG is both good and bad for the game. I wish they could add bad-luck protection for mount drops which is according to previous comments around 15%. This way, you are guaranteed to get a mount at around 1000 dubloons or less, which, in my opinion, is the best way to deliver the exciment of opening random boxes.
loot boxes
Now the next step for Blizzard will be Dubloon pouches in the cash shop.
This idea is a great idea in general for all those currencies you're sat with an abundance of doing sod all. They should implement these for more content that has comestic, pet, mounts rewards etc,
I hope they don't have those ridiculously high prices.
Nice! Finally something good for the islands. I don't dislike them and do them quite often, but the lack of loot (toys and mounts especially ) is soul-draining.
I think this is a nice compromise. The price in dubloons seems about right if the reported mountdroprate is accurate (1 in 8). 175 dubloons is a lot, but people who have been hunting mounts easily have several thousands of dubloons. While it doesn't give you directly what you want, it at least doubles your chances (first you do the island for dubloons, then you use those dubloons for an additional chance).

hope there is a loot protection system, like the loot boxes in OW. You cant get duplicates... ( i doubt)
