In the latest hotfixes, the Season 4 Fated Raid achievements have been changed to clarify that the Slime Cat mount will only be available if you complete the raids on Normal difficulty or higher.
A couple days ago, Blizzard
clarified
that the Slime Cat mount will not be available on LFR difficulty during Shadowlands Season 4. This came as a surprise to a portion of the community as the achievement made no mention of this requirement.
In today's hotfixes, these achievements have been hotfixed to include this requirement.
Defeat the following bosses on any difficultyNormal difficulty or higher while Sanctum of Domination is a Fated raid.
Defeat the following bosses on any difficultyNormal difficulty or higher while Nathria is a Fated raid.
Defeat the following bosses on any difficultyNormal difficulty or higher while Sepulcher of the First Ones is a Fated raid.
Complete all three Fated raids on Normal difficulty or higher in Shadowlands Season 4.
The other achievements have been clarified as well.
Defeat the following bosses on Heroic difficulty or higher while Sanctum of Domination is a Fated raid.
Defeat the following bosses on Heroic difficulty or higher while Nathria is a Fated raid.
Defeat the following bosses on Heroic difficulty or higher while Sepulcher of the First Ones is a Fated raid.
Complete all three Fated raids on Heroic difficulty or higher in Shadowlands Season 4.

I agree, normal raid is very easy and I don't mind doing it.
Unfortunately, the rest of the playerbase is not going to let me join them because I don't have a raider.io score and I don't have heroic raid gear (or higher). Especially if I were to deal damage.
This is the entire problem. It's not that normal raiding is hard--I find it a lot more fun than LFR which just feels like breaking a pinata for each boss--it's the simple fact the community is going to exclude me because I don't overgear the content.
I remember struggling to get into a group for the last raid of Battle for Azeroth just so I could see it, after working very hard to max out my gear I finally managed to do it after convincing an experienced and geared tank to take me with him (ultimately, he ended up leading a raid himself). In the end I was amazed by how easy it was, which has always been the case in the past as well.
There is a ton of gatekeeping in the community for even the easiest content that doesn't allow groups to form automatically. This is always going to be the case. I am okay with it, for the most part. There isn't anything I can do about it. However, I can understand the frustration for this mount because of that. People don't want to go through that song and dance, they just want to be able to get the mount and enjoy the new style of raiding without having to go through the trials of proving themselves "worthy" to run these raids or the stress of leading one.
Even in that case, it would be understandable (but very disappointing) that they decided to make it normal+ only, however they--unintentionally or not--misled the community into thinking it would be available on LFR from poor wording.
This is the first I've heard of fated raids or this mount and I rarely check on WoW news, but every now and then I try and find hints that Blizzard is changing, that this game will become less toxic and more enjoyable somehow, and I keep finding disappointment instead.
Personally I don't even care much about this slimy cat mount either way, but I would have loved a new type of content to play casually and a goal to work towards. This is exactly the kind of thing that would encourage me to come back to the game and give it a try.
Alas, it seems that Blizzard has not really learned anything in the past year. This doesn't give me much hope for the future of this game. But, in that sense, nothing has really changed...
OH THANK YOU! THANK YOU! 100 times for not having to type all that out myself again (posted pretty much the same on facebook page xD). THIS is what Blizzard should see. THIS is how they make a huge of their playerbase feel - unwanted, unrewarded and excluded.
Ofc there are tons of players who would do it on any difficulty but the LFG community will never let them. Technically it might seem like "it's not us, it's the players" problem, but honestly who gives them tools to do so? If all raid difficulties (except Mythic, let's be realistic here) were queueable (there are MMOs that do exactly that), you can even scrap LFR. Most people don't play LFR because it is easier (sure some might, but its definitely not majority), but because you don't have to deal with all the toxic crap of going through LFG tool.
One of the biggest problems is Aotc itself... just why? What are you actually "Ahead of", when it is meta to have it, and if you don't, you can't even go normal through LFG? The sole purpose of this achievement at the moment is to have a reason for not inviting someone to group / not joining someone's group and promote elitism. The same goes for Raider.io / logs ... why having information available to 3rd parties to let them create an artifical MMR for PVE? To make PVE better? Well guess what...it is getting worse over time. With all the boosters around both of those are pretty irrelevant to player skill anyway. Not to mention let's say a Mythic player from last expansion, who decides to skip most the current expansion will have hard time even being invited to normal, because he is not "good enough"? I just don't see what has been done to remove toxicity from the game from the side of Blizz. Quite the contrary is happening, there are more and more tools to optimize, min-max and grind and how to show those who don't.
inb4: "another casual complaining, look at your gear" yes its horrible, no I don't really play since Nathria HC kill, and yes I used to do all raid content on all levels (even touched Mythic briefly during Legion), even PUGS (both creating and joining). So yes technically I am a #&@ing casual at the moment.
