Even off the GCD if HM had kept its damage buff it would have been an utterly annoying button to have to keep up with every time you swapped targets. Aside from macro'ing it to every single button you have it's always going to prove an annoyance. Removing the damage buff and baking the 3% increased damage directly to the class is the only real answer as to what to do with the button. Guess we just wait on that 3% now.
Yep, I'm sure they'll re-balance now that it's gone. We have plenty of time before release now.
Nice, finally.
the pet revive was a nice upgrade
Terrible change, the mark is now useless as hunters can already track everything under the sun, and the two classes that use stealth regularly can also remove the mark. So it's not even that useful for stealth. No use in it for PvE, or PvP. Thanks blizz, great job.
I agree, they did do a great job. It's what the vast majority of hunters wanted.https://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/2563850-Poll-Shadowlands-Hunter-s-Mark
It's still a terrible change, it has no uses now and we got a nerf. At least make it useful in some compacity. If they want to make it useful for PvP I.E Rogues and Druids make it to where they can't remove it, or at least not as easily.
We have to see them in order to actually mark them, so by the time you see them they've already started to stun lock you, thus defeating the purpose of the mark. And if they do have to run away...unless that Rogue is an idiot they won't come back immediately. So yea, you should think before you talk. The only two classes where it'll be very very marginally useful. If they're gonna remove the damage component and nerf us at least change it to give it use outside of the very niche situation.
This is a huge relief. I never liked using Hunter's Mark, so it'll be nice to have it relegated to niche situations.
yes Hunter's Mark is useless now good riddance
That's not exactly true. HM losing 5% damage isn't a nerf. This means that they won't have to tune hunter damage around having 5% more in all instances. It's going to be the exact same in Single Target combat and a net gain in AOE combat. The whole problem was that it feels terrible to use, especially in any fight with more than 1 target and in a single target scenario, it's a set it and forget it situation, which isn't fun at all. In AOE, since everything is tuned around having 5% more damage for hunters with the old HM, you were losing damage because it can only be on a single target at a time. The vast majority of hunters were begging for this change and we got it. Thank god they're listening.
