I get the feeling that its real number will be 500 or 5,000 Corrupted Memento
Meh. Kinda sucks. When we first heard of the corruption system, I was one of the few people defending it, because I imagined removing corruption from an item would be a difficult task, with the reward of deleting the negative effect while retaining the bonus. As it stands it does seem like 99% of people are gonna cleanse every item they get.
I don't expect it will be prohibitively expensive. This is what's replacing titan/warforging, so the bonus is supposed to be a bonus, and the corruption is to limit the amount of bonus you can benefit from. If you can't remove corrupted bonuses easily, then it would defeat the purpose of replacing titan/warforging. Instead of getting a drop and thinking, "oh cool, bonus!", it would sour the excitement of getting a drop completely.
I mean, I wouldn't be so sure. There's positive effects to them that would give people pause because cleansing them removes both the effects. So I wouldn't say that everyone's gonna be cleansing stuff. Also values can still change.
So much for the previous blue post the cleansing would be without restriction, adding a currency would be a restriction no matter how cheap it is. We also never want an item that would otherwise be an upgrade to feel unusable as a result of being Corrupted, so any Corrupted items can be taken to the Heart Forge and purified without restriction . If you get that trinket you’ve been hoping for, but it’s Corrupted with a beneficial effect you don’t like, or wearing it would push you above a Corruption threshold you’re comfortable with, just purify the item and carry on.
I'm not wearing anything that negatively impacts my character or tries to kill it while I'm in combat. I just don't see how that would ever be fun. At most, it would become this awful meta where you would get ostracized and ridiculed for refusing to wear corrupted gear and you would effectively sit out the last season of BfA which is looking more and more likely. One of the worst lies I heard about BfA was that item level was going to matter. So what is benthic gear and socketed gear and now corrupted gear...If there end up being insanely powerful damage modifiers on some of these corrupted affixes then we are literally going to have benthic gear 2.0.Except right now we have benthic gear and the character I really tried to make benthic gear work with, getting the sockets or even a socket tertiary, but just tonight, I got kicked out of a pug because I soaked 2 ripples on my mage not a single melee tried to block with the shell up, died, and got kicked and told my gear was kinda low because im wearing 410 and 415 socketed benthic gear and obviously soaking the ripples and dying to try to keep the raid from wiping makes your dps kinda look low cause youre dead. That's how toxic this game is now, you get ostracized for trying to use the stupid benthic gear and trying to do boss fight mechanics to take one for the team. How is this supposed to be any better? At least I had a *little* player agency with titanforging because there was an option to grind mythic+ and hope I got lucky but that's gone now it's just this corrupted stuff that I will have to slowly timegate chore my way into wearing through weekly chores to get resistance. The entire thing just sounds like a really poorly thought out gimmick that nobody decided to stand up and try to argue against with the very basic common sense of "players don't want to wear anything that has negative effects or tries to kill them".Where is the voice of reason anymore? Who is standing up to these ideas? Who was supposed to speak up and mention that there was another faction called The Alliance for the last 2 years while they worked on BfA while we're on that subject...
Ye I assume either the visions have had a massive buff in drop rates or purification has had its cost reduced for PTR testing.Unless there is some other use for them, being able to purify 100 items after a single run would make them all but meaningless.
They should name it Dream Kill Points, or somehow so we finaly officialy get 50DKP minus :D
When u say purification and it reduces effectivnes %6 ? nice one guys pls look the meaning of purification in dictionary smh
What? I think either you or I must be confused about what this post is showing.
So, not only do we have to choose whether to even want to cleanse it (or instead just wait a few weeks before equipping it, if the corruption is good enough), but we also have to pay for it? Really?
So, they replace the negative effect with secondary stats to maintain the proper item level? They can't just turn it into a stam, str/int/agi item and leave it at that. Seems like a silly system - if it's that cheap to "cleanse", the negative effects outweigh the positives AND they get replaced with normal secondary stats, then what's the point anyway? Anyway, if they're going to "cleanse" the piece then I'd say just remove the negative effect and raise the price a fair amount, that way it's a fairly straightforward path.
As I understand it, the point is to stack SOME corrupted gear, with the best beneficial traits, and mitigate them with the Legendary cloak. However the RNG is that some of the negative traits you really don't want to wear in certain fights for certain classes (e.g. ones that drop pools of s**t under melee). They seem to be encouraging gear swapping - which 90% of the player base don't do as it's already to complicated to work out the best gear, let alone the best gear for a specific fight.
Patch Lands Wow what a great corruption ability on that item. Shame I have to purify it as I have no resistance.5 Weeks inWhy did I ever purify that great item :( now I have corruption resistance I wish I could get it back.AlternativelyWow this will be a great item eventually such a shame I can't use it today. Ill put it in the bank for a month. So hope they offer a high cost option to reverse purification. Will need to be high cost so it is not done lightly and avoid encounter level switching which would just slow the game down.
