I play alliance on a formerly PVE server. I like to do RBGs, but I was never excited by world PVP. I did some of the big TM/SS battles or fighting outside the WSG/AB instances back in Vanilla, but that was an opt-in thing, mostly we just stuck to the BGs.I leveled my first toon in BFA with warmode on. I had a few fights, but no major gankings, likely because everyone else was still leveling their first toons too. On the second toon, I made it maybe to 113 before I got ganked constantly. I couldn't get any quests done, and during Darkmoon week, I was having to constantly go back to get a new XP buff. It was no longer worth it.Now at 120, I still don't find it worth it, because I'd rather just get my world quests over and done with or enter a Mythic dungeon without fighting my way into the entrance and not worry about yet another gank squad. This buff doesn't change my mind.Warmode was an interesting idea in theory, but because of the faction imbalance and the way incentives/buffs work, it rewards setting up gank squads. I think rather than trying to encourage the smaller faction to participate more, they should add higher diminishing returns or something to discourage groups from constant ganking. Extend the debuff on honorless target maybe? I'm not sure that would help, because it seems less about honor and more about griefing. You'd almost need to give the lesser faction some kind of buff to compensate for being constantly outnumbered.Oh well, it's optional. So I'll continue to just do BGs instead, just like before BFA.
This isn't going to fix anything.Until you properly fix the sharding of areas so that Alliance doesn't run into a raid group of Horde (mostly around Champions of Azeroth World Quests) I will not turn War Mode on.
lol, this will never gonna be fixed. Like because its alliance who is underrepresented, but if it was Blizzard's popular beloved horde, there will be instant hotfix nerf to alliance racials...
The only players that turn war mode on are leveling. And they are more concerned about leveling then actual PvP. I'm leveling my Dark Iron dwarf with it on and time after time I'll see a flagged player of the opposite faction ride right by me. Generally speaking, people who are leveling are much more concerned with that. If they are interested in PvP, it's at max level where it really counts. As for faction imbalance, it has always existed in WoW and it always will. Just as class imbalance has always existed and always will.
DEAR DIRECTOR THE ONLY FACTOR THAT DEBALANCE WORLD PVP ITS THOSE ADDONS THAT GROUP PEOPLE TO MAKE WORLD QUES TOGETHER ...THOSE WHO USE THAT ADDONS TO FIND GROUP MAKE UNBALANCE THE WORLD PVP
to be fair, the only reason i put warmode on is to play pve with pvp talent, that's it. Like Enhancement Shaman for example, Static Cling,Ride the Lightning and Shamanism for pve content ? HOT DAMN. But now they are trying to remove Static Cling and nerf Ride the Lightning in 8.1 ptr, so i guess i just try to enjoy my Enhancement Shaman in pvp mode until 8.1 hit then turn warmode off LUL
*!@# warmode
Back to boosting alliance in pvp... as a horde player I feel that I play this game just so alliance players get to have a more "epic" experience. Meanwhile horde gets obliterated lorewise and noone cares.
Out of my 6 Horde 120's, I only EVER leveled (or even turned on) warmode on one (my latest toon, as I avoided it up until lately). That 10% bonus wasn't even worth the hassle of the possibility of slowing down my leveling experience.
I never (and will never) consider it for my Alliance toons.
Game Director Ion Hazzikostas needs to get his head out of his nether region if he thinks an XP increase 30% is going to make up for the downtime created by Horde Gankerf squads in low-level questing zones! Without a system that eliminates the ability of a group level 120s from farming low levels even a bonus of 300% wouldn't make up for the amt of time a quest hub can be camped! On may servers there are whole Guilds of Gankers who work low-level quest hubs in rotations just for the giggles of ensuring that no Alliance with Warmode on can level in that zone!
They should make the WM rewards to be only PVP related imo. Getting PVE buffs for doing PVP is why this system is a failure. Who thought forcing PVE players to do PVP was a good idea anyway? For PVPers, if you turn WM on, you should also accept that you might die and therefore your levelling will be slower (do PVPers even care about that 10% exp buff?).
If there is a shard imbalance, dynamically amplify the damage/healing of the lesser faction players in that shard by the inverse ratio. Cap it at 175%. One dude frontin' against twenty shouldn't be at 2000%
