Depends on how relevant crafted gear is at the mid/end cycle of the patch, this is either good for healers that dont have cr or not relevant at all
You should be able to get mythic level crafts so this could become a really "expected" thing that everyone can BR in a group with this.
Always malfunction+nitro on belt=always launching you straight up no? Really useful sometimes
the always malfunctioning thing can be useful to learn new shematics which save you from malfunction. They can only be obtained if u skill a specific Engineering Spec and proc as one of your tinkers malfunctionsbut right now it seems like this always malfunction tinker is not obtainable
Question is the gnomish knife tool still going to work? In dragonflight
I guess RIP rank 1 ingi and Alchemie :(
So basically they're making engi worse than it was in shadowlands.
is this where we pretend Engineering was good and now is suddenly bad for the first time ?
So is this saying that, as an engineer, I may have to choose to forgo a better itimized/higher ilvl set of bracers/helm from dungeons/raid in order to bring my brez? I'm not going to be able to brez anymore without wearing very specific pieces of crafted gear that may or may not be better than drops I get?
Seems like they want other professions to be relevant, which means Engineering can't be the "I don't want to craft, just make me better at pvp/M+" tradeskill anymore. That design intent never really made sense anyway, if someone doesn't want to do crafting I don't see why they deserve a consolation prize of extra player power and more importantly, critical utility that many classes don't even have. Engi still looks strong and it also has good stuff it can sell for once. I think it's good that it's becoming more of a "choice" and less of a "requirement to have 1 skill but never progress so you can use 1-2 critical items" ... because that was just silly.
Always malfunction sounds like a testing tinker for when things go bad.
This is only a good thing if, as an engineer specifically, you can craft BoP items at a higher ilvl to remain relevant.Otherwise they essentially lied about engineers getting an infinite-use brez item, and we will all have to use the consumable ones. (Or I've totally misunderstood this and they've even removed the consumable ones, which is an awful idea, engineering needs more consumables to keep it relevant later into the expac)
OP only mentioned Glider and Nitro Boosts from old Engi stuff. But the jumper cables... we ALREADY have a crafted item that does the same, and not a single mention if it'll still work in DFCome on guys on Beta, be smarter, open your minds. Can we still use our current Cables in DF? If so, these 'tinkers' are a no-no, for many reasons, maybe only for non-engineers, but I wouldn't see any engineer using the new ones, attached to the bracers/Helm, in the long run, I see use in one or more of the other tinkers, on the other hand. Also, what about a non-engineer 'Loot-A-Rang', or if the current one will even work in the DF maps, stuff like these tend to go unnoticed, and only get noticed when live.
