Just completed as Venthry with 18 Nadjia, Kaletar, and Theotar, and a 16 Rahel. Had to do some minor healing at the end (256 anima worth) but got it done.I mean, it's also about placement.
Ya as Venthyr I dont even bother with the Elite missions every one I have tried I have gotten trucked and I even waited to do the Soul Ash mission till I had a couple troops in the 20's and did not even get the guy to half health. At this point the table is just a waste of Anima. I feel like all my troops are Fury warriors.
I've been unable to complete that mission as Kyrian as of today. It just keeps failing. Completely broken trash system. Beta For Azeroth strikes again.

I don't get why they didn't just mirror every single ability and just change their name for flavor/fit covenant theme. Very weird that they'd add more work for themselves to make each covenant follower have their own abilities in a fight where 99.9999% of the people will just press the "skip to end" button every time.
I've given up on even attempting these as Venthyr.
I really dont get how i suppose to complete soul ash mission as nightfae, i have champions 24,23,21 and 19, troops are 22, yet soul ash mission is level 25... this is 2nd or 3rd spawn of this mission, every time it spawns with level or two ABOVE my highest champion... First two spawns I didnt even try to complete it... i sended them on a mission this morning, just for the kicks to see how much it will fail tomorrow morning...Such a trash system...
I had a feeling that venthyr was trash for missions since I've been struggling with everything and I was right. I'm shocked it's so drastically imbalanced.
After you hit about level 15 even the gold and silver quests are a piece of cake with the Necrolords. You just stick your huge Abomination meatshields in the front row, Emani, Gorelimb (the guy that driops from Torghast).and Secutor Mevix. Emani and Gorelimb have enormous heath polls ~1,500 each and can dish our massive damage. Then put Plague Devisor Marileth in the back row to heal (he can also do some pretty descent damage with his Volatile Solvent, then I usually just round out the back row with a Maldraxxus Plaguesinger, because he's a ranged attacker that can hit from the back row. My team is level 20 now and rarely even takes much damage from silver/gold quests. My best advice would be for about the first week after you open up the Covenant Missions is to do nothing but the ones that award XP to your team. That makes them level up REALLY fast, (3 or 4 levels at a time for the first couple). Then once you have a team that is over level 10 (15 is better) start doing the silver and gold quests.
This makes me happy I got the healer companion out of layer 2 Torghast last week...(I'm Venthyr)
How do you even out level missions when the missions scale with the level of your companions?
i still dont get how there isnt an addon for this expansions mission table. since wod there was one. i dont care enough to figure these missions out and since the rewards are as useless as bfa's imma wait until there is an addon
OMG thanks! I was having self-esteem issues thinking my inability to win any missions on my Venthyr table was ONLY because I have no idea what I'm doing. It's affirming to know that it's not just me, that the system needs to be tuned. I'll just go back to doing the WQ and dungeon stabby-stab until it's fixed. Tipto the Explorer (Gnome Outlaw Rogue)
I failed my soul ash command board quest last night, even though I had 2 named npc followers at or above the level of the quest with 3 of the assist npc's. :(
So what I'm reading here is that the game is working as designed. Some covenants will be more advantageous in some content while others will be more advantageous in other content. We all knew from the beginning that not every covenant was going to be equal and that not every choice was going to have the exact same outcome. That was the whole point of the covenant system when they introduced it. Some of these disparities feel a bit out of tune with what actual game pay should feel like, and I'm pretty sure that once Blizz sees the major unbalances they will put in a hot fix or a different mechanic. Now that there is a large data pool on mission table content, they have more information to process. That's just another reason why I am not trying to rush through all the things in less than a month. The first month or two and even sometimes into the 2nd or 3rd wing of the first LFR of any expac have always been Beta2.0 for the game. Everyone blows up the forums and the Wowhead's over content they are playing in the first few weeks that Blizz probably didn't anticipate players seeing for 2-3 months. They have continually managed to highly underestimate the stamina of players when it comes to "New" content, especially when most of those same players have been playing and replaying the same new content on beta for months. Blizz will eventually get around to fixing this, hey after all they did eventually fix Azerite Armor, right? lol
