I hoped that previous expansions will be 'integrated into one' and their items' level will scale from 10 to 50. Maybe last expansion an exception (so 10 to 40 ~45). In my opinion it would be the best idea. I can't understand why should it be differentiated. And see these numbers... I pray that Blizzard will take this idea into consideration.
especially because it makes level squish a mandatory thing now. The way ilvl grow during ONE expansion is just insane...it almost make a level squish mandatory after each expansion...ridiculous...
Current gear in BFA shouldn't feel obsolete. But having a jump of 70 ilvl between Uldir and Ny'alotha is too much, considering we had a huge ilvl bloat problem in BFA. At the least, Heroic Ny'alotha should be at ilvl 100, a 30 ilvl difference between Uldir and Ny'alotha will allow Shadowlands to breathe more, metaphorically. Throwing it out there, I believe that the 50-60 ilvl should start around 75 (as it is in the Alpha rn) and end around 110. Since the levels got squished, a lvl 60 should not have a 200-300+ ilvl right off the get go, we'd be back right where we were in BFA. Item levels can be much closer together and still provide a difference stat-wise. For example, lets say that the first raid of SL normal is 130. Heroic can be 140 and you can still feel the difference between the item levels. You can even have heroic be 5 ilvl higher and still make a difference. All I know is that Blizzard has to reduce the ilvl of Ny'alotha gear more, to prevent a gear bloating problem in Shadowlands.
Is this gonna affect the vendor prices of gear drops? It's gonna really suck if everything goes down to vendoring for single-digit gold values...
Can someone check the levels of heirlooms? Just curious what they will be with the whole squish
What will happen to Herald of the Titans? Will that still be available?
This does not look good for people who like to run old raids for transmog and mounts - easy quick solo runs being at the highest level, the item level comparisons are not the same at all.
Love this squish in numbers so much!
