On top of the general inscrutability of it all, there are also an embarrassing number of basic spelling and grammatical errors all over the place. "Viscious," missing periods, missing spaces; combined with everything else, it really does feel like the adventure table was extremely rushed and not given the attention or polish it needs. The amount of XP you get if there's not a bonus reward seems next to negligible, and once your champions get high enough it seems like those bonus missions completely stop appearing, which sucks when you're trying to level up brand new ones or even the ones that are still a full 10-20 levels behind everyone else. The anima-rewarding ones are also pretty ridiculous, since you're spending about half the reward in just filling the team slots. 30 anima reward costs about 15 anima to chase? And healing my guys costs hundreds of anima every single time? Screw that.
If I'm not mistaken, there's no real way to calculate what will happen, since it seems like (at least after the first turn), a team's members attack in random order, which can change the outcome.
I did not know you can scroll there at first so I did not scroll the first 2 weeks. Was wondering why I had only short bad missions while others have cool ones
this is made far worse that i did enough adventure campaigns that i no longer get bonus xp missions. but i keep getting new companions i need to level. hecking give them back pls? and ty.
I use this addon to make adventures a little bit better https://www.townlong-yak.com/addons/venture-plan
Agreed. It's an awful feeling to succeed in missions up to a point where all of a sudden you're failing miserably, don't always know -why- and the best way to level up new companions is to throw them on missions with lots of XP and expect them to fail...As it stands, the system feels rather frustratingly vague--is it better to send one companion and 4 supplementary troops? Multiple companions? A high level on a low level mission? What do you do when all your missions are in the 30s, and you've just recruited a new level 1 companion?Even with the Venture Plan addon to give me odds of success, it's still a system with a lot of inefficiency and stumbling blocks.
This article gets one very crucial piece of information wrong.Troops are the median level of your companions, not the average (mean). Adding a level 1 companion won't hurt your troop level if you have enough high-level companions. For example:If I have the following companion levels - 32, 30, 30, 29, 1 - your troops will be level 30, not level 24.You can use this information to keep your effective troop level high by regularly levelling your mid and top end companions, and avoid running torghast or your campaign (thus avoiding picking up more companions) until your median companion's level is at what you consider an acceptable level.
"Another part of this system that frustrates a lot of players is that not only do new Companions start at level 1 and have to be leveled up before they can really be used, but also the level of the Troops is the average level of your Companions. This means that if you get a new Companion, the level of your Troops plummets."WHHYYYYYY?Good grief, what were they thinking?
I use VenturePlan. I have not yet lost when the addon said it would be a win.
Yeah Venture Plan is huge. I've completed 18 campaign missions as Necrolords and have gotten two of the four mounts so far. Hopefully they move it to curse sometime soon. What really bothers me though is the lack of experience missions I am getting at this level and the inability to complete missions with followers outside a full team of the 5 of the 7 followers that I had leveled earlier on when I was still getting experience missions regularly.
a mobile game you check every 4 to 8 hours at most... super engaging and fun.
What also sucks is when you get a new follower, you don't get missions relevant to their level, so you have to throw them into a higher one and hope that having a level 1 involved doesn't then fail it for you. And if you do succeed, you don't get any more XP than if you'd put them on a mission with a level relevant to them!
I would love to see one of two situations for the troups.
I hate the table stuff so much, and it is disappointing they keep pushing it in each expansion. It's the most annoying component of the game since pet battles. Why do we have to have people spending time on this stuff instead of just working on the core of the game that we are all here for? In shadowlands, this table is particularly frustrating. Seems that some are almost impossible to complete successfully, at least as kyrian. The rewards suck and aren't even worth the time in most cases. A bit of gold, useless gear, 35 anima even though to have to spend like 10-15 to have a chance at getting it. If you fail your dudes are damaged and you have to wait for that too, or waste a ton of anima early in the expansion. All around poorly designed and implemented, and yet still weaved into the game in an effort to force players to pay attention to it anyway. Having some soul ash locked behind this is just frustrating. It's not fun, predictable, worthwhile, or rewarding. This is just their crap filler content with a twist, in the wrong direction. Just delete it and be done with it.
cant agree more. these mini games are starting to get boring and ridiculous. The time they spent on it could have been spent better elsewhere. it was enough in WoD where you had to do it twice, once on normal troops and once on ships too. Lets not go back there please. Better yet, lets not do another of these mobile mini games either
