There both pros and cons to this. Pros being that the dup piece also has a chance at a socket or will have Leech or avoidance. So yea it could be both the same piece but saying this is all bad is just short sighted.
Duplicates from boss drops in raids and dungeons....I get that, as each boss has its own loot table for different classes and thus duplicates are expected, with M+ chests / paragon reps and emissaries, each of these should offer unique and more powerful versions of existing gear in the expansion, key depending of course. With the introduction of choice, at the very least you get to choose what reward you get every week, assuming you meet the criteria, which I think a lot of players will, duplicates should not even be part of this feature, at least in terms of choice, should really only ever be a "duplicate" if you already have the item equipped and it's a reward for the following week, whether it has a gem slot or a more powerful version, but I don't know if that would be a duplicate, so much as it would be an upgrade.
That’s pretty lame honestly man , was hoping for all different stuff For dagger chance choices for example and a spread of things .
is it also a bug that he's wearing mythic 2 210 ilevel of the same pants, but the mythic 2 from both caches are only 204 ilevel?.
I should hope Blizzard will change that, as the whole idea behind having multiple items to choose from is exactly that...multiple different items to choose from. Having duplicates defeats that purpose.
If only there wasn't 40 days or so to go.But then again, they tend to not listen to beta feedback
Why are people making it a big thing when it's clearly not? It's pretty simple to change it to insure that every item is different. Blizzard's intent with this new chance is clearly to make sure we should always have a good option for us to pick, so I'm thinking this is just an oversight. Considering the quantity of items you can get from the chest, I'm pretty sure nobody considered the possibility of two items dropping the same week.It does have to be fixed, but don't make it out to be the doom of the expansion either ...
This isn't a bug, unfortunately, and won't be patched. Bliz has a very, very long history of being ok with extremely bad RNG results. This is up there with "I have only 1 max level piece, and the weekly chest had the exact same piece" - this happens all the damn time. What Bliz screwed up on was: if they are going to move to such a RNG-focused mantra, they need to add bad luck protection on a higher order of magnitude. Or give it up and give us currency-based systems like ever-single-player-wants. They really, really want us to have massive disappointments like this.
This should be treated as a bug. It's stupid that they give us a choice when the items are the exact same - Unless one has higher iLvL.
And you wonder why I joke about people clamoring for the shadowlands launch. The game bugged and unfinished yet people want it ASAP cause they want to put leaves in their hair and change their cat appearance from the base form to fire cat.Literally nothing happening in pre-patch besides cosmetics. I hope it only lasts for 3 weeks (thus Oct 6 pre-patch date) so that the few of us trying to finish up azeroth’s champion can get our remaining essences.
It would be one thing if a duplicate had a socket or some difference. That said, if two (or more) items are exactly the same then the system should replace one. If the idea for the Vault is to have choice, then there should be actual choice and not just rely on RNG for each item.
People saying this is OK don't value their time and believe others shouldn't value their time. Also, yes, this is beta. You know that known bugs from previous betas made into the game even with massive reporting, right?Don't get why people still keep defending Blizzard at this point.
I don't understand the reactions. Yeah, it looks bad if you assumed they would be different, but they never said that. What I was assuming is that it would be like expending a coin for an extra roll, and this matches that assumption.
It's better that this can come out now before launch. Obviously it's not something to be happy about, but now it's become a known quantity that can be reported to Blizzard and discussed.
