If I see any horde player from merc mode in my bgs as alliance I am purposefully throwing the game because they are not on my faction. WoD was the worst xpac in the history of wow(yes including bfa) for a number of reasons and that was one of them
"DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH CLASSIC but also please change all this stuff."Its the same thing that its been on retail for a decade. They're essentially asking the Devs to change how the community acts. We all know that the community will follow whatever the top do, and it trickles down from there. What change would the Devs literally even make? Add mercenary mode? There are already incentives for doing certain BGs.
Merc mode is not the answer as it will just further the faction imbalance. The only real solution is (free) Horde -> Alliance only faction change. You linked the A:H ratio trend yourself and it's very worrying, but it's potentially a lot worse than it seems; Ironforge.pro can only grab data from Warcraft Logs (as Blizzard does not release any of these numbers). As many Horde like to point out, those numbers (61:39) simply don't account for the massive queues Horde are getting. Alliance generally queue less PvP and do more PvE than Horde. Despite this, Horde have the majority population in PvE logs as well. This tells me that the faction imbalance is actually far worse than one would think just looking at the numbers. Boosts have already had a massive impact on the ratio and merc mode would absolutely destroy the already shrinking Alliance population.
I don't want to come across as toxic, but Horde really need to stop causing the same problem, over and over and over and overI understand it's annoying but everyone predicted this, it's been an issue on retail for a very long time and any change they make further justifies players to stop playing alliance and reroll hordeMaybe it's time for you, the player, to change your ways?
Just enable honor gains from kills in arena at the same values you'd get if 5 players fought 5 players in open world PvP.Some say this would kill battlegrounds, but you'd still have to get the marks from battlegrounds to purchase honor gear. I think the horde would put up with mark farming in long queues if that's all it was.Even as Alliance the amount of time it takes to farm honor for marginally better gear is shocking. I can level 1-70 in less time. I thought TBC was supposed to have a better PvP system with less grinding than Vanilla.Seems like a pretty easy fix to the problem.
Horde made their mudhuts now they can lie in them. Why should they get the benefit of the best arena racials but also get instant queues? The chronoboon was one of the worst things to happen to WoW Classic, lets hope they don't do something as awful here.
I feel like the people who are complaining in the comments here are not playing the game. I play Alliance, I queue BGs daily and I feel bad for the Horde sitting in queues for hours on end. I care about the game and I wish everyone could enjoy it. I'm not saying Merc mode is the best way to fix the problem, but we definetly have to acknowledge that there is a problem and that it will cause many players to stop participating in PVP or simply quit the game. The chronoboon addition was fantastic and made the game better, I hope they can do something similar for this situation before it's too late.
I was just posting about how the chronoboon made the game better. I'd be curious to hear why you think it was one of the worst additions to the game?
Literally just play Alliance and enjoy instant queues :D :D :D
There is an easy fix for all the this whine. Reroll.
Merc mode is a terrible idea. Just open up free faction changes (horde -> ally only) on all horde dominated realms. The problem will sort itself eventually. People wouldn't mass faction change even if it was a paid option because it's way too expensive to change your entire char list. Free faction changes is the *only* real solution. Also don't act so entitled to gear. Many realms back in the day had very long queue times and hardly anyone got their full sets within the first few weeks. This is not a "problem" or "news".
I like how all fixes ignore the obvious "just play alliance if you like queue times" fix. You aren't owed lower queue times as horde since you're part of the problem by default.
No changes. Leave it in its Classic state.
I'll try to feel bad for the warrior who had to sit in queues for an hour after he resists my charge, intercept and grenade next time I get a nice instant queue into a BG of my choice =]
This Article is beyond ridiculous. Why is the Horde here printed as the Vitcims ?This is an normal player related issue and the most simple Answer is the most easiest SolutionPlay Alliance
This is such a non issue when it comes down to horde players just make their own problem worse because they grief and corpse camp any chance they get, but they cry when they lose their bg that they've been sitting in queue for 20 minutes for.The actual issue is that honor gains are abysmal and takes entirely too long to grind out honor gear. Increase honor gains, more people will queue for bgs overall, shortening horde queue times and lowering the incentive for horde to kill/grief in open world because its the only honor they get
I keep slipping on banana peels. Please make them less slippery
