Writers mistakes:Make Sylvanas a garrosh v2.0 after blizz EXPLICTELY stated that not to be case (which was a lie as we saw BFA a legit copy/paste of MoP (starts with A vs H fighting and H destroying an A city, H NPC starst a coup and seeks alliance help doing it, WC uses greater power old god/jailer.. a legit cpy paste with new skins applied) retcons frostmourne able to split souls (which was never a thing until they needed it for their bs plot)legit writing in a guys fanfic between sylvanas and nathanosReally wish they'd stop retconning stuff thats been lore canon for yrs just to make a mess of the actual lore.
Yeah....loved her sister so much she made her think she was going to co-lead the Undercity with her as she was while Sylvanas was planning to murder her in her sleep and raise her into undeath (a state she herself refers to as a torment) without her knowledge or consent. And by 'break her heart' Vereesa chose not to abandon her young children. The only 'wrong' Vereesa did was not telling her she changed her mind in person, but she herself apologized for that in the three sisters comic (again...where Sylvanas was planning on murdering her (and Alleria).
putting aside all this "oh it was split soul all along" retconned nonsense that Danuser is pushing to try and redeem his waifu, all this stuff is happening in books that 99% of the player base will never readwhat that means is that the "in-game" sylvanus is still the genocidal villain (with years of villainous acts) who has betrayed literally everyone on azeroth, including her own people, in the chase for "muh freedom" or w.e.If Danuser is seriously going to redeem sylvanus, which is stupid enough as it is, in this way where any reason/justification/character development/so on is only shown out of game... well ya, there's a reason the current writing team are considered terrible :/ _______________________________________________________as for this whole short story, I think this book is not considered canon.... I could be wrong on that thougheither way, this entire soul split thing is terribly written and this whole idiocy around trying for a redemption is godawful writing
Honestly it feels like the first time in ages that there is a resolution somewhere for Sylvanas; I really think her character might be retired soon.I think there will be an important moment where Sylvanas will have to face the part of herself that Frostmourne took -Courage- but I am not sure how that will play out.As a narrative device, it's kinda great, because it would serve to make Sylvanas see herself as she was the moment of her death and recon with all of the choices she had made since, but beyond that, how she takes that, it's a crapshoot. She could go into a rage and destroy the last good glimmer of herself, or be undone enough that it serves to weaken her during the fight. Beyond that, I don't think I see a future for Sylvanas beyond being lobotomized -sent to Bastion and have her memories removed- and that being framed at most as the best possible outcome. Like a final meeting between the sisters where Sylvanas doesn't remember Vereesa and then they said goodbye would be quite bittersweet.
So we should have indeed known that all these years.
Arden also seems to have some pretty strong ties to Azeroth compared to other realms, and in particular some of its species (trolls and elves definitely, tauren likely) even beyond that
