Still can't believe they watched what happened to retail servers for years with people migrating to a mega server for their faction and then pretend it wouldn't happen on Classic PvP servers the same way it did for retail. Absolute incompetence across the board and now they wanna take the stance of "player created problem" Nah. You're the developers with the power. You've watched it happen before. You should've had caps in place from the start and you refused to do it. Maybe it's time to realize the idea of Classic Servers is severely outdated and does not work in 2022 when you want a successful game. Also doesn't help that they went from 12 layers on Classic launch 3 years ago to help queues, and it did so to a degree, but now they can't seem to add more than 4 layers on servers at all times before they've "reached their capacity".
Enjoyed my Medium pop server with zero wait times and lfg bumpin. Gotta be mad to join those mega servers.
It's almost like being on a server with a metric crapton of people tends to lead to issues when that metric crapton all try to play at once? I'm playing on a Medium server and things are going swimmingly. :D
Skyfury had 3-4 hour queues most of the weekend. And there is 0 option to transfer since it is the only fresh pvp server.
The integrity of servers AH and Trade chat being the defense of increasing Layers, while at the same time stating servers are 5x their old size. That toothpaste is out of the tube, stop pretending youre trying to save us from ourselves. We all know you want that server xfer money.
Community Reactions to Wrath Classic Queue Timeswhat about " Community Reactions to Wrath Classic Auction House"
DeservedNext time put French/German Fresh serv .
TBH, people at mega PVP server deserve this to themselves. They are not real pvp players, just a bunch of losers love PPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPvP
The issue of so many people being on a mega server isn't the problem, it is the symptom. The main problem being that servers die, and it costs money for EACH character to hop to another server. People who have done this before don’t want to invest another large sum of money just to play the game.I personally would love to not be on a mega server, but I also want to be on a server where I can find groups, raids, or even another living soul (Earthfury died hard). I have thought about the free transfer, but then I remembered how bad it felt to HAVE to shell out 100+ dollars to move because there were so few people left there.
Blizzard fault on this was allowing megaservers to be created like that due to transfers, and not punishing an actual exploit allowing people to go from one megaserver to another, further increasing the incoming disaster thats situation right now, and situation when wotlk launches. They created a gigantic problem, hard to solve out of pure greedOn other side, its also players fault. There never be "enough" for them to the point of claiming that 8k pop server is "dead" because they need to spend 15min lfg instead of 5. There's no other video game of that caliber that have so many players on a single serverrealm. its gigantic problem for both server software and hardware. I don't expect a quick resolution, because there isn't any. Only game that maybe had similiar problem was eve online. Unless blizzard serveradmins and devs cpull a miracle, you won't get a resolution fast. They're prolly pioneering a lot of things related to servers holding 15k online players with 10k+ in queue. Average server in other games have around 10k pop hardcap. Unless we suddenly invent practical usage of 128bit computing for servers with sudden icnrease of CPU power related to multitasking, the only solution is actually convincing people to populate smaller, non-dead realm
After all these years, I have no sympathy for people who choose to play on megaservers.
Well it's good to know that adding more layers wouldn't solve the issue. I know I and others were wondering about that. Honestly I don't know what Blizzard is expected to do here. This is caused by players with 2022 mindsets wanting to play on a system from 2004. The retail cross realm system was put in place for a reason, but it comes with its own problems too.

Normal things...people pretty well know they might wait long que now but when pre-patch for DF and release of DF come, there wont be any alive realms but the mega realms that got big que atm...Something that repeat every time. They are just making sure that their realm will be atleast semi healthy when they come back later in Ulduar tier or ICC tier.PS: This players doesnt deserve any symphathy, they know very well what they are into
Not even an extra fresh pvp realm, for those 12k players in que on a wednesday....
or maybe you can go and fight the plague outside.. its same..
I mean the game tells you "This server is full. Are you sure dumb dumb."And people are like "hAhAhAhAhA yEs I'm SuRe :'''''''D"Then act all surprised pikachu.smh my head
