Mm you know it's been alluded to multiple times now that there's a hidden landmass or something special on the other side of Azeroth. West of Kalimdor and east of the EK, in that uncharted sea no one ever goes to or returns from if they do. It used to be theorized the Dragon Isles may be there, but that's not the case, they're up north. It does set up a potential place to check out in a future expansion, but it could also be where a supposed fifth Old God, or some vestige of one, might be sealed. In that way it wouldn't really even clash with the Chronicles too much because this fifth one wouldn't have ever been on Kalimdor at all, it landed somewhere else. A land that's now probably magically concealed in the way Pandaria and the Dragon Isles were where no one can find it. Or perhaps it was actually just killed by the other four before the titans arrived. If this theory is even true though. There's still little going for it, we really need more concrete clues to suggest there actually was a fifth one. One minor book entry is not much. Nor is Xal'atath.Either way, there's something very different about the situation of this. It doesn't feel the same as the other four.
If this is deliberate and not some oversight then I think it's likely the 5th old god is benevolent, or at least, not openly hostile to life. We've seen that other beings of a given realm (Pantheon of Death, Titans, Na'aru etc) have their own agendas and attitudes towards mortals. It doesn't seem out of the question that a void entity could have not been into the whole murder-madness sthick, but still opposed the titans.
Bothering with lore to end up making nonsense.
Knaifu.
I'm still thinking Iridikron will have some involvement or collaboration with Old Gods or similar from the hints that have been dropped thus far in Dragonflight. In particular the cutscene with the aspects after defeating Raszageth strongly hints at this being a possibility in the way that they talk about Iridikron's willing to go to any lengths in the war.
Maybe Azeroth is actually an Old God (or is being controlled by one)? Maybe Sargeras actually wanted to kill her when he stabbed the planet?Maybe the real WOUNDS are the enemies we made along the way?
Be cool if They swung fully into the Narrivate the Titans lied about the Black Empire. This would literally flip the narrative of the game on its head. We could end up working with the 5th Old God to defeat Odin and usher in an expansion of the void.
Wasn't the 5th old gold G'huun
Is it possible that the old gods have enough influence to try to make people forget the fifth? The in game books could be affected by said influence. I'm probably wrong but it's just a thought.
*laughing*Now I'm just imaging the Old Gods forming one mighty OLDEST GOD--"By our powers combined!"--a la Voltron style.Anyway...please carry on with your speculation while I madly laugh about ridiculous cartoon meming of old gods....
Danuser's a hack that relies on retcons instead of enhancing a story with actual creativity.
