I'm actually kind of surprised to see how little support is given to those that would oppose this as a playable race.... If Fox humanoids become a playable race, where does it end? At what point does the addition of humanoids foxes lead to humanoid animals of every type you can imagine? At least the Pandaren made sense in the lore, but how could they possibly add the Vulpera as a playable race before they added things like Murlocs, Furlbogs, Naga, or any of the other highly suggested races that actually have an established place in the lore?I think the issue people have isn't that this is actually a possibility, but rather that these random animal humanoids have seemingly come out of nowhere, and have no place being added to the game before any of the other much more established races. I think that is what people mean when they say that this is no longer Warcraft, and I agree with them. If you add silly things like this as a playable race, it literally will never end before you see the entire Warcraft population replaced with uninspired zoo animals, and the game is then turned into some twistedly perverted and bizarre zoo simulator for underdeveloped adult children that are sexually attracted to creatures with fur.If that is your thing, that is just fine with me. And I'm not saying it's wrong to like cute things. I just don't get why people are so fast to see the Warcraft lore perverted into something that resembles "My Little Pony"....
Make them playable or riot
Those shoulders are hilariously over-scaled. Also I don't care what anyone says. They're going to be playable. Bliz just dislikes datamining and wants to create a sense of surprise when they announce them.
Oh my goodness, they are cute! Since I make webcomics, I could definitely use them in a story arc I have percolating on the back burner.
Make Vulpera a Second Neutral group so we can have fun on either side like Pandaren.
The furry in me NEEDS this race! Please blizzard make this a playable race!
I'm not really sure what Pop Culture references even have to do with the Warcraft story. It seems quite silly that you would feel the need to argue to someone that the Warcraft story, as well as the various mediums relating to the Warcraft story, indeed are not entirely 100% original. I think that is quite obvious to everyone who appreciates story telling, and frankly anyone who actually takes the time to argue or discuss the lore relating to a story is probably the last person you would need to convince that practically no well developed and well traveled story is ever going to be 100% original. Furthermore, I already covered the vast majority of the things you are arguing about much-much earlier in this discussion. For the effort you put into your response, I would have expected that you would have taken the time to read the entirety of the discussion - instead of focusing your argument on a single solitary comment within a discussion with close to 100 other comments. For your convenience, here is my previous comment that covers the basis of your argument.
Spending all this time on custom options for a race we can't even play, meanwhile female worgen still look like hydrocephalic chihuahuas. Yeah, I'm a little salty.
@ RenutsI've played through Warcraft 2, Warcraft 3, read all the novels and I am a passionate fan of WoW in every way. That being said, I've enjoyed WoW story now more than ever. The storytelling is reaching another level and I'm personally enjoying it big time. The cinematics, the atmosphere, the music...not to mention the breath-taking environment. Now I don't see what problem will Vulpera make if they get added as a race? The way I see it, it will just make many players, including myself, happy. Every single friend I've spoken to likes them and wants to see them added. There will certainly be lore behind them, there is certainly more to tell us and of course we will be meeting new races in the future expansions also. What I am also expecting to see is some reptilian race that will be playable as well. Truthfully, I am glad we stepped away from the 'Orcs-only' lore and that we are moving forward. There will be people who will be against them, or against other races...just look at the reaction towards Void Elves. Tastes differ.I respect that you are not fond of Vulpera, but to etiquette people who play them in such a way is so wrong on many levels. Not everyone is 'sexually obsessed' with furries. When it comes to myself I'd choose any animalistic race over human-like race in any video game, because I like it that way, not because I am 'drooling' at them. Ever since I was a kid I loved foxes and this will be like a dream come true. I don't remember how many times I've seen 'The fox and the hound' cartoon. The more choices the better, I am certain that Blizzard devs know what they are doing and that they will have a very interesting story behind them. Personally, I'd have Vulpera over Pandaren any time...but then again, there are people who like Pandaren, what can I say? Let people play what they like! :)
