Although I have enjoyed the last 24hours of posts and the general flaming that has ensued the complete idiocy surrounding players on patch day, it's time to write a quick update for all the rogues out there still DW LPC's in Maly 25. Don't believe me, come to Feathermoon, I will show u first hand.

First of all, The changes:
Classes: General
* Armor Penetration Rating: All classes now receive 25% more benefit from Armor Penetration Rating.
* Hysteria, Tricks of the Trade, Enrage, Wrecking Crew, Death Wish, Arcane Power, Owlkin Frenzy, The Beast Within, and Avenging Wrath damage bonuses no longer stack together.
Rogue
* Deadly Poison: The amount of damage this poison generates from the Rogue’s attack power has been increased from 8% per application to 12%.
* Deadly Throw: Missile speed increased.
* Instant Poison: Redesigned to have its chance to be applied based on the speed of the weapon (frequency-based).
* Shiv: This ability can no longer generate a critical strike, and the poisons it applies cannot be critical strikes either.
* Tricks of the Trade: Will now begin following the first damaging attack.
* Wound Poison: Redesigned to have its chance to be applied based on the speed of the weapon (frequency-based).
Talents
Assassination
* Hunger For Blood: No longer stacks. Damage bonus changed to 15% for a single application. Requires a bleed effect active on the rogue’s target. No longer removes bleeds from the rogue. Now costs 15 energy and lasts for 60 seconds.
* Master Poisoner: Now also increases the bonus to apply Deadly Poison when Envenom is used by an additional 15/30/45%.
Combat
* Adrenaline Rush cooldown reduced to 3 minutes.
* Killing Spree: Now also increases all damage done by the Rogue while active by 20%.
* Savage Combat improved to 2/4% increased damage against poisoned targets.
* Lightning Reflexes reduced to 3 ranks for 2/4/6% dodge and 4/7/10% melee haste.
Subtlety
* Shadow Dance now opens a new action bar when used.
As you can see nothing earthshattering. In fact you may say that we got buffed. A radical concept in the rogue community, one we may have to develop a cynical appreciation for over the next year or so.
So now what do these changes mean for you and your rogue. I'm going to break it down by Spec and use.

Mutilate:
Our raid spec has changed slightly to include the benefit from master poisoner.
Also the weapons we equip have changed slightly in response to the changes to the way poisons are applied.
The new raid spec for muti is:
51/13/7
MH is now Slow 1.8s with IP and OH is Fast 1.5 or less with DP.
Your rotation is still the same:
Open: Garrote
Priorities:
1) HfB
2) SnD
3) Rupture
The goal is to have all three of those make 100% uptime.
Mutilate is your CP generator, and you muti to 4-5 CPs before using envenom to refresh SnD or Rupture to refresh Rupture.
HfB now only costs 15 energy and lasts for a minute freeing up a lot of energy to spend on your DPS and use to keep up your rotation.

Combat:
Spec:

I gave the example here of a fist/dagger spec but spec whatever specialty you have the weapons for.
Rotations are the same.
Nothing major has changed to the combat tree.
Opener: Garrote
1) SnD
2) Rupture
3) If energy is capping and SnD and rupture cannot be refreshed eviserate.
That is it.

Subtlety:
The spec is:
8/20/43
This build relies on your party to have a crit rate of 40% or more to generate you combo points for you.
Unless you are about to cap your energy you should never use a CP generating ability.
Opener: Garrote
The rotation is essentially:
1) SnD
2) Rupture
3) Evis
Any time you have 4+ CPs you should Eviserate.

A: Something of a matter of debate. Personally, I'd say 15/51/5. A case can be made for 18/51/2. 7/51/13 seems to be behind.
Q: Which weapon spec is best?
A: Whichever one you have the best weapons for
Q: Okay, then what weapons are good?
A: For a MH, you want something slow (2.5-2.7) and as high-DPS as possible - DPS matters for than speed. For an OH, you want something as fast as possible - 1.4 is best, and failing that 1.5. An OH Sword can be .1 slower than an similar-DPS dagger or mace and still be competitive. Since two-weapon specs are basically dead, you thus want two weapons of the same specialization that satisfy this as well as possible. For more information, see your local friendly spreadsheet. But in particular: CG/WD for BIS T7.
Q: Which stats are good for combat?
A: AP = Agi > Yellow Hit > ArPen > Spell hit > Crit = Expertise > Haste > White Hit > Strength
Q: Which glyphs should I use?
A: Sinister Strike, Rupture, and... well, for sustained DPS, Killing Spree is probably the best. For fights where KSp is unsuitable, TotT is a strong option. If you don't like either of those, probably SnD or Adrenaline Rush.
Combat Daggers
Q: Is combat daggers viable?
A: No.
Q: Really? But my friend told me it's good, and...
A: Still no.
Subtlety
Q: So how do I gear/spec/etc. for Subtlety?
A: I haven't seen any clear consensus on this. Go read the thread. And if you consider yourself to be an expert on HAT, feel free to PM me and provide suitable information.
General
Q: Okay, which of those specs does the most damage?
A: Still being debated. HAT with a stacked group is probably highest. If you can't get a stacked group, combat and mutilate seem pretty close; against Murderable targets, Mutilate might have a slight edge, while against non-Murderable targets, combat seems to be a bit ahead.
Q: I notice you say Agi = AP above. Which should I use?
A: At T7 gear levels, AP may be slightly more DPS; however, the increased survivability from agility also has some value, and the DPS difference is really not large. So some people prefer to use agi for this reason. Once you get T8 4/5, Agi is pretty clearly superior.
Q: How good is the T8 2/5 set bonus?
A: Good.
Q: How good is the T8 4/5 set bonus?
A: Really really good.
Q: Would you like to be a little more helpful?
A: Fine. Both are better than the corresponding set bonus in T7. You will almost certainly want to wind up using 4/5 T8 as a result, barring the arrival of really crazy offset items. T7 4/5 will mostly likely be worth breaking for T8 2/5 by the time you pick up 3 pieces of T8, even if it's just T8.10. For specifics, check a spreadsheet.
Q: But I tested on a target dummy and got different answers!
A: Was the target dummy fully raid debuffed, and you fully raid buffed? Did you perform multiple trials totally at least an hour to reduce variance? I didn't think so. That's why you got different answers.
Q: Which poisons should I use?
A: MH should be Instant Poison if you're specced into Improved Poisons and Wound Poison otherwise. OH should be Deadly Poison pretty much no matter what.

tbh, i don' play combat, probably never will.
I didn't know if that points would be better spent for the extra evis dmg or the extra CP.

Actually, the HaT spec, you should move 2 points from Precision to Imp. SnD
The HaT spec does not need to meet the Poison Hit Cap, as long as you cap the yellow-hit, go for Expertise Cap, then pure DPS(AP or Agi).
However, HaT is really a high-end spec for PvE-rogues, not recommended to use it unless you mastered the Combat & Assassination spec.

Yes, keeping up SnD and spamming Eviscerate/Envenom is a skill that only those who have mastered all that is Rogue have obtained.
I thought it just wasn't recommended unless you have higher end gear and a crit happy group.
HaT is more than a hotkey spamming spec, if you want to get good dps from it.
I do agree that with BiS gears along with a good group, you may mess around with HaT spec and get higher dps than you do with Combat/Assassination.
Comparing to Combat/Assassination, which both have a steady rotation to follow, everything in HaT are just happened too fast.

Preference.
In the end you have enough CPs to do just about anything you want if this spec is working right.
But your logic is correct. Specials cap and then you could dump points into IMP SnD. But I would make sure that you hit the specials cap no mater what.
I believe with 3/5 percision that would be 196hit.
I would like to see some information though supporting your claim.
