wowe
You know... znoth really is the true hero of wow. He was trying to stop this.
draconic as one of the languages? feels like another nod towards dragon isles in the future
welp welcome to a sinking ship. I miss N'zoth
Oh. My.The SL story is so badly written.
As a Venthyr I simply use Door of Shadows to get to the top of Resonant Peaks XD
man please hire another writter of the next expansion... my god
This makes a lot of sense. Love it. <3
Very hard to stomach that this is somehow the culmination of years of storytelling. Talk about ending on a low. It feels like since Legion the lore has been circling the drain.
The character that was a failure as a Kyrian and couldn't get past Phase 1 of a 4 Phase process is now the judger of souls. Oh yeah that completely makes sense. Please get a new writing team I beg you.
Honestly would have preferred being able to stay back in 8.3. Yes even with corruption circus and all. Having another 2 years of the game in the finalized state we got in September 2020 is preferential to the game since 9.0 pre-patch. Although I wouldn't say no to the background improvements/bugfixes/tunings they've done to pre-9.0 content and game client.
I'm glad it's pelagos because that means it's not sylvanas. Not a high bar I know but I'm going to take my victories where I can in this expansion. Curious that Draconic was one of the languages for a crazy ass machine thingy in the creators personal designer sandbox. Those rumors about the Dragon Isle expansion are starting to gain more weight.
So this is the great Pelagos story arc that's supposed to set him up as a good Arbiter? When all the story-defenders told us we shouldn't judge based on 9.0-9.1. but instead wait and see the narrative arc that he gets in 9.2., I didn't expect that all he would do is repeat three cliché lines about something the three other Covenants said and that's it? He apparently has all the wisdom, perception and confidence he needs to make executive decisions about the fate of all souls and the Shadowlands as a whole, when a few quests ago he couldn't even judge anything accurately and was consumed by doubt and couldn't manage the simplest of tasks independently? Yeah no. What an utterly shoehorned, unearned and contrived development. If anything, it's the post-ascension cinematic that ruins the entire thing. Pelagos shouldn't be Pelagos as the Arbiter. The Arbiter should be an impartial entity, a vessel for the Purpose, a being in whom all the songs sing as one. Not Pelagos with a paintjob joking about Adrestes. It completely destroys the gravitas of the Arbiter and the weight of Pelagos's decision, almost contradicting the big 'oh no your soul' sacrifice speech with Kleia earlier. It would have made far more sense if Pelagos became a vessel just like Willowblossom became a vessel of Ardenweald, because then his character development would have paid off on that pivotal moment that touched Pelagos profoundly - Willow's purity of purpose, selflessness and sacrifice. Atrocious model aside (too much Pelagos), at the very least remove the joke, add some polyphonic reverb voice instead of Pelagos's voice, and don't make him say that he's still Pelagos but more - the Arbiter shouldn't be Pelagos or any singular personal identity, the Arbiter should be the Arbiter.
The problem with Pelagos is that he really has only 1 character trait. He is not even a basic 2-dimensional character like Nathanos. He is one dimensional. And this is the new Arbiter, makes sense in a way that it's on the level of the SL writing as a whole, i guess?
Wow, what a touching, noble, and even tragic sacrifice with absolutely no consequences or price involved. So, pretty much any soul could become Arbiter. And that guy went straight from being basically a cadet in police academy, to minister of justice. Compelling and relatable.
Blizzard is not doing anything to the developers who led WoW to failure. WoW expansion packs marked with failure need to be changed in some way in the future.Firing the people who created this storyline would be a good example.
It is really amazing how story about following jailer to stop him is avoiding Jailer and his plans at all costs.
This doesn't make sense... We are told that the Jailer was the original Arbiter and that the Eternal ones (Winter Queen, Primus etc) stripped him of his powers and banished him then created the new arbiter. But NONE of them know anything about the process of going to Zerith Mortis and creating a new Arbiter.Blizz can't even keep the lore of a single expansion consistent these days...
