I think it's cool that blizz is adding in small flavor stuff like this. It helps add a level of immersion to the world. However, I'm disappointed to see yet another darker element of WoW be blotted out or watered down yet again. While this particular example isn't that guilty of this IMO (this is just one orc who feels remorse, not necessarily the sentiment of the whole clan), it's a common trend that's been going on with many of the groups, clans, and factions in WoW. Over the years and expansions more and more characters and groups have been becoming "anduin" clones. They always want to do what's right for the greater good and always incredibly solemn and depressed about anything evil or immoral. The Dark Iron dwarves went from trying to take of ironforge in cata to being total team players in MoP. The horde has lost pretty much any and all ferocity it had. There's basically no evil or wild orc or troll tribes left, and the ones that remain are "too small" to matter. Internal strife with the factions' races and characters are basically non-existent, with Sylvanas and Gallywix being the last remnants of that. Now all the leaders get along with each other and agree on almost everything, and that basically extends to the opposing faction as well. I'm not saying we have to constantly be at war, but IMO the world would feel a little more exciting if characters got along less, had more ulterior motives, held more grudges, etc. Not necessarily on the level of what we had to go through with Sylvanas where it controls the narrative, but smaller things where interests, goals, and plans may not always mesh perfectly. It adds a level of uncertainty to what may happen without becoming its own major plot that needs to be resolved. Additionally, It'd be nice if there we didn't always completely wipe out some of the side villains we battle. IMO reoccurring groups like the burning blade, Defias brotherhood, or other such groups can be used in a way that helps to tone down the power creep of the player factions and main NPCs. Having enemies that are a sort of constant thorn in our side can help keep things grounded instead of always having to have a bigger bad to defeat. They should be the main villain but sort of a weed or pest that is never the top threat but something we have to every once in a while work to keep in check. Anyways this is just me rambling and throwing out my personal ideas/thoughtsTLDR: I like that Blizz is adding cool flavor for stuff like this, but I'm disappointed how the characters and groups are constantly becoming pious, penitent, and righteous. It leaves the world feeling bland. /endrambling
I’m exalted with these guys. For the hordeIt’s a game people. I don’t feel bad that some random clan in a game killed a few dragons. I do love that they put this quest in though. I think I got some cool shoulders out of it.
Who's cutting onions in here?
I find it strange that blizz can make characters from small side quests like this more interesting than major antagonists like the jailer. like here i would honestly have loved to go around the dragon isles with Duroz and watched his interaction with the different dragons. Loved this small quest chain, hope there are many more like it that are just as good.
Wowhead bots working overtime to create a narrative
People are being weird on this post. This is a touching questline. I like that we've seen a few different Dragonmaw over years come to regret their actions/the actions of their clan.I can't wait to go through this quest.
Ugh... right in the feels. /cryI love when Blizzard does what they do best - storytelling. <3 I cant wait to play this quest myself on live.
Hold on!-recomposes himself-Okay, this was a good moment. I need to be better prepared when I get a chance to do it myself.
Ah, an interesting look into a complicated legacy.Let's hope a sexual predator doesn't get into the writer's room and ruins it again.
This made me cry damn it.....
I RP on my orc hunter as being a orphan from the Dragonmaw clan, and this quest hits in a personal level.
