the previous scaling was just horrible, you come to SL with heirloom, and good luck to access first dungeon, you have to do many killing useless quests to hope being 51 asap and complete with some blues 90 and hoping having the proper ilevel to tag at level 51/52, very punitive. This new one sounds far more better
This is actually pretty good, not just because it makes more sense but also will avoid situations like a fresh lvl50 getting into Shadowlands... and being unable to queue for dungeons since the required ilvl is 80 or 90 (idr) whilst looms are giving 58 ilvl
I still enjoyed wearing them even without the XP bonuses, I just liked making gold selling all the gear drops and not having to worry about it

Cool change. It always felt odd that the heirlooms weren't even enough to let you queue for dungeons even at level 50.
Now just to see the return of actually useful XP buffs to it. Rested XP really isn't worth anything.
This is a great change imo. Leveling through dungeons during Shadowlands, it felt like the only worth of heirlooms were having a consistent a transmog through the leveling process and the time saved not having to equip new gear.
great, now reduce the prices by a lot, and also make a usable ui to actually upgrade these things in a coherent manner such as the item upgrade system used for: nazjatar gear, pvp gear, korthia gear, catalyst tier gear, mythic plus gear, etc. to make a smoother ux. it should be way easier than buying various casings and upgrade items over and over. a fitting ui has existed for a long time now.
Still usless honestly. I haven't used Heirlooms outside of Lv 40 in ages it is no longer worth upgrading the gear and is still useless compared to how it was before the dumb changes in Shadowlands.
Now lets see what will happen with lvl 61 heirlooms, probably again a big batch.
Damn I just leveled my lock since yesterday xD
Good. These things are so ludicrously expensive to upgrade that they should be incredibly strong prior to hitting level cap.I STILL think they're too expensive though.
Cool now bring back their xp increase. They should all be default level 50 now because of all the squishes. The cost to increase just a couple levels is ludicrous.
I assume quest rewards and dungeon drops will be similarly equalized, at least to even out that increase at 51.
The heirloom bonuses really need another re-work. Both the 2-piece and 6-piece bonuses are useless after you get through your rested XP, so it actively encourages less play. Should be combined into one.The 5-piece bonus doesn't last long enough, and I often like to take a quick break after earning a level so I rarely take advantage of the temporary buff. We don't really need the XP bonus to come back, but something like a movement speed bonus would be useful.
now improve the heirloom upgrade system
This is pretty solid, but they could do with squishing the upgrade levels too. Paying 1500g x5 for another 5 levels is... not good.
AYOooooo! Thank You, Blizzard! big ilvl spike for Heirs makes me super happy, it WAS frustrating to be sure that looms felt so underwhelming.
They are supposed to be a gold sink. Since they no longer increase xp gains they are not something that every player should easily have at max level.
