I guess I'm the only one who hasn't had people whine or yell when I move my brutosaur after I'm done with my AH business. My server may be backwater, but I don't think it's known for its friendliness... or really known for anything for that matter.I did have one dude try to follow me for a while, so I held an impromptu Laps Around Oribos session, but that's about it.
For folks that don't want to deal with the hostility of a momentary use of the brutosaur. Go to the "only mail box in oribos" in the inner ring near the inn. Go through the inn towards the fate scribe and you'll see an outside ring that goes around the whole of Oribos. There you will find the 2nd "only mail box in oribos". Mount up away from any anyone, do your quick AH business, use the mailbox right there, then go about your day. Very few people will see your long boi. The ones that do, they won't care because they're doing other things at the moment.I saw someone do that once when I was running to the fate scribe to turn on the threads of fate. I thought it odd that someone was out there on their long boi, but figured it out when they mounted up, then dismounted within 20 seconds and left the area.Truly sad that folks feel like they need to bully people to the point where folks will legit hide their long bois. I've been in both situations, AFKed by the mailbox while I do other things IRL and mounted up for a moment or two to do something quickly. Anyone gets snotty, I just /ignore them.
/console turnspeed 2000now go do a keyboard turn and have fun :)/console turnspeed 180 is the default value
Sometimes I'll announce before mounting mine, sometimes I don't. It depends on how much time I have to allow others to use my mount. I generally don't park myself right next to a mailbox because I find it annoying when I can't see it when others do. But I'll park myself a short distance from the mailbox. So what if people have to take a few steps to pick up their goodies.Suggestion to people looking for the mount... just ask for it. I'm sure there are plenty of people willing to help.
I take my longboi to the garrison and just do my shiz there.
This is the worst tip I've ever read.
I have a bank alt. This character's job is to sit in Undercity (they're technically in the past as they've been lvl 2 for years) between a mailbox and an auctioneer. Whenever I have anything to sell on any of my other characters, I send it to him. If I need to buy anything, I can buy it with him and mail it to the character that needs it. All this requires is some logging out and in. Hardly a chore if your main is in Oribos already. You don't need to move your main from where they are aside from finding a mailbox (or not even that if you're nightborne). At that point, finding someone with a brutosaur is a bonus, but not necessary. This has worked well for me for a long time. I don't know why anyone would get so upset over not being able to use someone else's mount unless they're paying them for the privilege.
If I'm going AFK in Oribos, I always move to the postbox first. I'm mindful of the fact that I have the advantage of playing in previous expansions where it was absurdly easy to make gold. Admittedly buying the long boi did wipe me out but it was worth every copper!
yep I'll move 100% of the time if I see someone trying to use my mount unless someone wants to tip me some money. I find it hilarious when I juke a bunch of people trying to use it.
This, it puts me off using my Longboi in Orbios. Rude whispers, yells, /spit. Some people feel so entitled to use my ah mount. Like I’m an NPC and should stand there for them all day. I try to be nice and give people a one minute warning before I dismount.
While I work from home I like to leave my Brutosaur up in Oribos in the background. Its nice to be kind, we could all use a little love in these times.
Pro-tip, get the mailbox toy from engineering MOLL-E, the Nightborne racial Cantrips or Katy's Stampwhistle. That way you can do your auctions wherever you want, whenever you want. I have had a dream to set up a desert Vulpera caravan in the Vol'dun with camps, auction, vendor and transmog mounts :DI do often stay mounted next to the Oribox mailboxes though, but I am not about to get yelled at by someone. Ask nicely, and I might give you a few minutes to finish your auctions, be rude and get reported/ignored.
The few times I need to grab an item or just to quickly check on my auctions from any bruto in Oribos I always make sure to emote or whisper a thank you to the person. Although they may not see it (or possibly ignore it), I figure it may make them smile that someone thanks them as they are under no obligation to have it up and available. So thank you long boi owners! :)
