PR move or not, it's good to see and it's better than them not doing this.
People shouldn't be focusing on one man, Bobby Kotick is irrelevant. It's the capitalistic system that's flawed. If it wasn't Kottick someone else would be taking bonuses. I'm pretty sure every person who is commenting here would take 100 million and lay off couple hundred people.
From 5 houses to 4 houses. That is real social downfall.
I don't really have an opinion on this or on anyone, I just want to know if this is good for our game? Or is it not really connected/related? I just want whats best for the game and it's longevity, fun and future. If this news isn't helping the game, please let me know, as I'm not really knowledgeable about this stuff. I see the amount and hope it goes to the game-making, but not sure that's how this flows. Serious, legitimate replies only please. Thank you.
Bad move in my opinion. I would rather see the subscription cost raised to 20$ a month. AS CEO there are many sacrifices one has to make. I dont earn that much money myself but i would buy something like a ingame item from the store which 80% directly go to him.
lol only after he already collected well over a billion in yearly bonuses over the past decades as CEO with Activision.. so him pretending to be a good guy by cutting his bonuses in half, etc is too little too late and just a play for someone to who a reduction of ~15 million in bonuses is an insignificant drop in the ocean compared to the money he has accumulated over the past decades with Activision.
get the feeling this is due to all the negative backlash considering so many people lost there jobs, while he gets a huge bonous for no reason.
I'm curious to know if this has anything to do with the proposed Tax Hike on the 1%.
dont worry, he'll be awarded with twice that next time to reward him for this PR stunt.
but does this mean better games and more money for employees or more money for other lead designers to guzzles from the lower tier designers? thus still having massive layoffs and poor wages continue? or is this better for them and thus better games and more money for employees and hiring more people again?
Give that 50% to the art and cinematic team in wow, they deserve every dollar on the planet
I think we need to start a Go fund me page for him.... poor guy
