Nah, I'm happy with my dragon made of stars. lol
And here i sit with a lasso on every class but no mount spawn
There are few events in Pandaria that you can find cloud serpents and the timeless isle has a lot of cloud serpents, why aren't those made tame-able and this is limited only to the ivory cloud serpent in valley? (aside from Shadow Land Cloud Serpent). As the books doesn't specify, I would assume once live, it'll enables for any (unless it's unique/named) cloud serpent?
Given my recent experience when trying to tame Nalak (and after that Oondasta) I must say good for any hunter who manages to tame something like that (Oondasta is exception as her spawn mechanic allow to tame her anytime). There are far too more jerks among non-hunters and they are just angry because this inconvenience them personally and if they could they wouldn't hesitate for moment.I decided to try taming Nalak at time when I expected no-one to be there and it took me over 5 hours to finally get him. Thanks to CRZ and sharding (people appearing from nowhere or completely unrelated servers + spawning at different time then it should) there was always at least one or 2 people who prevented me getting him. Single person offered to wait for me, but in end prevented me to get it at last moment (that was 2,5 hours in).----------On other note people should still complain both hunters and non-hunters. Current system for taming will sooner or later need to be replaced with collection+transmog system when what pet can do and how it looks would be possible to set separately.Reasons:- number of interesting pet skins will always be greater then stable size- number of interesting pets would go unused in stables as their abilities aren't desirable enough- system would allow to share pet looks between hunters on account so they won't need to tame peoples rares and world bosses for every alt hunter they have (and with still increasing stable size collection system will eventually need less storage space then multiple hunters with stables on same accountMore complains could force this change to come sooner
As a mount collector, I really don't see what is the big deal for hunters and the Ivory Cloud Serpent - They can't tame it the second it spawns (because it spawns far up in the air), while people looking for the mount can lasso it immediately after it spawns. If the Ivory Cloud Serpent lives long enough to fly around the roofs of the Serpent's Spine, people weren't really camping it.
YES IT'S TIME TO TAME THE HOLON :D
Just lower the respawn timer to like 10 mins problem is solved there really is no reason to have it at a 3+ hour respawn. As for the other world bosses just remove CRZ from those zones.
Inb4 hunters are able to tame dragons such as TLPD and Aeonaxx. They should have added an identical serpent just for the tame rather than making a rare spawn used for a mount tamable. Seriously, people are spending hours waiting for the spawn (and often lose to someone else). And now they can potentially lose to hunters. Also I bet that many people tame this serpent just because it's a new thing and most likely it'll stay in their stable when SL comes out and many, many new pets with it. I have two hunters myself, one is BM and I already have a lot of pets that I just don't summon too often.
Just to give some perspective on this. It's not an intended strategy. Blizzard didn't do this deliberately. They're not trying to turn hunters against mount farmers, just as it isn't the fault of the Illuminati or 5G. It's the result of:(i) all cloud serpents being bulk-flagged tameable during the Beta because the designers didn't have time to look at each case individually and it was assumed that if they were friendly then they wouldn't be tameable anyway. Plus they rely on us for bug reports of buggy stuff. Usually this works well.(ii) someone coming up with a creative and unintentional use of the Sliver toy that allowed us to tame those things anyway. So it may yet be hotfixed away, and the designers will hopefully find time to add those looks in other places, especially since it requires non-PvPers to PvP for an activity that is normally PvE in nature, and pretty much everyone hates it when they do that. But if the trick remains, as others have stated, it's not a huge deal, as hunters can only tame the serpent once it's reached a point where anyone camping it for the mount would have lassoed it anyway (unless they were slow or weren't paying attention, in which case they're more likely to lose out to other mount farmers). Also, you're welcome for using my screenshots and those of my colleagues, but it's generally nice to attribute the source of those images.
At least Oondasta respawns really fast if tamed and not killed.
They should just add in some elite serpent with the same model for hunters so they don't have to contend with mount collectors. Call the mob Tahming. I'll take my cheque in the mail, Blizz.
