Gelbin has come a long way from being partly responsible for the deaths of over 90% of gnomekind because he trusted Thermaplugg and lost Gnomergan. I don't think any gnome really ever blamed him though. Although he did blame himself. That what makes the guy pretty cool. Though he's still a gnome I would punt off the mountain lol
Gelbin Mekkatorque is back *and* becomes a legitimate King of Gnomes? woooooh! One of my favorite characters. :3
Wait an Alliance leader actually biting it, as in true death? Blizzard doesn't know how to kill off Alliance leaders...Varian is the only true dead individual...
I really think Sethrak and Vulpera were going to be the 8.2 allied races (early data mining, Ion talking about cute v fierce for H and A, snake vs fox themes, Alliance initially helping them) but that SOME decision was made that Sethrak wouldn't fit the Alliance aesthetic or, more likely, would take something from the Horde and so it was changed. Then, because it was changed, the Vulpera got pushed back to 8.3 (which is why Brewfest things were made for them, they were supposed to be released!) to give time for the Alliance to get something figured out as an AR. I think Sethrak were a HUGELY missed opportunity not just from an AR perspective but for the Horde and Vulpera as well. It would have been really cool culturally in Zandalar for the trolls to have a rival empire on the continent in terms of long term story/lore/rp. It would have been awesome for the vulpera to not have just lost their mortal enemy as "oh it was just the faithless, we can all be friends now" especially because having a true enemy in an EMPIRE like the sethrak would have given the vulpera a clear reason not to trust the ALLIANCE vs the rag tag horde friends without hamfisted purge squads. For Horde development, especially in a time of peace, a clear distinction between H v A would be really helpful and the Sethrak/Vulpera could have been an awesome, morally grey, way to paint it. From Vulpera's perspective they are trying to survive and are enslaved/persecuted by evil Sethrak. From Sethrak perspective Vulpera are lawless thieves and renegades and disrupting polite society. I've probably spent too much time thinking about it but ... sigh. And Mechagnomes would have been awesome CUSTOMIZATION options for gnomes which would go better with this cute High Tinker story...... /flail
Well, this completely invalid the 'leak' where the goblin leader reviving Mekkatorque.
This new allied race is apparently bothering a lot of people...good! It's about time gnomes got some attention, and if that upsets people who dislike/hate gnomes, I'm totally fine with that!I was honestly surprised just how little you can customize mechagnomes right now, but I'm ecstatic to see them playable none the less. This was the only remaining allied race I was really hoping for, so I'm content with whatever else the rest of the expansion may or may not have. If tinkers get announced as a playable race next expansion, then I couldn't be happier! My fingers are crossed! The lore for this quest is of course interesting, but it's not really shaking any boundaries or revealing anything that most people weren't expecting. That doesn't mean that I'm any less happy to see it, but ... it feels really odd that we STILL don't have back our city. But, at least we got some interesting gnome-centric content for the first time in nearly a decade!
I main Horde, I'm wondering if you have Rustbolt exalted if I can just hop on a max level Ally toon and get the race like LF Draenei and Velfs?
King of ALL gnomes aye? That's news to leper gnomes...
