They should do it like it used to work. If you aren't max classic, it adds to that. if you are max classic it adds to Outland, If max Outland it adds to Northrend etc.
The whole profession power leveling nerf thing is stupid.
Well, there goes my participation trophy.Even the 10% rep increase isn't THAT good. Especially on rep contacts. 10% of 10 is pretty bad lol
This is a bad move, however i saw this coming. I've noticed that for the past 2 months i haven't been getting those points. Honestly i'm wondering why it took so long for it to be addressed and why were the +5 profession reward still on the quest for ppl above the 300. The changes have been going downhill for a while. They keep removing some of their best things in this game. The only real question i got now is.... Whats the new reward in replace of the 5 points of profession points? Are we getting totally ripped or will we get a little extra badges or something?Anyways other than maybe the odd achievement i've got out there still, i have no reason to focus the carnival anymore. I keep up with rep pretty good so i don't find many times i really need that buff. My main reason was always to help my alts a little bit every month in their professions. RIP DMF
Guess who isn't even getting max level legion talents, looking at you Mining, because of this?I'd much prefer+5 classic+1 last expansion+1 recent expansion OR baggie of materials to help me level.
Quite literally no reason to go to the DMF any longer.
DMF is literally the ONLY way I was able to finish leveling LW in Legion. At least the profs have gone back to the old way of getting patterns from trainers and you don't get stuck with all grey patterns and nothing else to learn.....Although I was sadly disappointed to not get the cooking points- I don't have a lot of time to spend fishing (for oil)
The only issue I have with this, as far as I'm aware - we weren't forewarned?
Well, the only good thing to get out of these messages is that they are aware of it. They should do this more often, acknowledging some problems, even if they're not going to do something about it soon (tm).Still I'd like them to change this yesterday the latest.
Thought it was a bug and submitted a ticket. Now I know :(
FYI, the Archaeology skillup still works up to 950.

Oh come on. This is bull.
Easy fix:Allow players to CHOOSE which Profession "Tier" they want the +5 skill-ups on. They could even exclude the latest expansion (Kul Tiras / Zandalar), and then add those in the NEXT expansion. While most probably would choose +5 skill-up to Kul Tiras / Zandalar if given the option, some might wanna get skill-ups for a previous expansion (for transmog purposes).
This is STUPID.
I went to DMF last night on my 120 HMT shaman, who JUST learned skinning/LW about a week into BfA.I have no points in classic skinning/LW, but I'm maxed out on BfA points. There weren't any profession quests for me, save for cooking and fishing (which I did because I'm a nerd).Explain that to me.
Blizzard's explanation does not pass the smell test. The +5 points have been in place since Cataclysm, they are not overpowered, and they do not break the system.Feels much more likely that Blizzard simply forgot to take this into account when they split the professions by xpac in 8.0, and it's an unintended fallout. No one wants Classic expansion levels any more, especially now.Holding off my Faire quests until we hear more.
