I hope everyone saying "morally grey" understands what it means.
Something tells me that Sylvanas will not be around to see the end of BFA! Also, I change my mind about wanting to level a horde character...
Sylvanas is Evil, who is surprised?
Alliance is now taking in all new members from former... morally grey sources...For the edgelords and tentacle enthusiasts, we have Void Elves. For the furries and all the goodest of bois and girls, we have Worgen and Alliance aligned Pandaren. For the sexiest amongst you, we have Dwarves (soon with a second flavor, Jalapeño Dwarves). For the scifi goat lovers, we have Draenei (and their light tatted up cousins). For the erotic RP'ers, we have Gnomes. For the uncreative, we have Humans, based off of the real life race known as Humans also.Due to an incident, we are down one racial option, but you wouldn't want to play them and dance naked on mailboxes, would you?
I don't even know where to start here. The heavy-handed Lich King metaphor, the doubling down on "death to the living" while her living allies watch, trying to frame her as semi-compassionate despite her actions, having her switch gears from "conquer it" to "#$%^ it, burn 'em all" because a single dying general hurt her feelings... there's a lot to unpack here.Aaaaand yup, people are still defending her. Excusing the burning of Teldrassil with "this is war" is some middle-school understanding of how things work. Sure, innocent people will die during a war - caught in crossfire and all that. But the historical powers that pulled the kind of thing Sylvanas is currently pulling, going out of their way to cause as much civilian suffering and death as possible, are basically relegated to groups like the Nazis - generally regarded as the most heinous individuals in human history.(Also, the Nazis ended up losing the war, so there's that.)
She is a Warchief, Leader of the Horde , noone should pitied her. They call us traitor at Broken Shore, they opened fire at Stormheim and they started war by attackinga goblin employer's at Silithus and send all Darnassian army to control it, all because old wolf and boy want to show their position. I prefer this than some lazy green Jezus looking for peace.
Deep down, I knew this was where Sylvanas' story was going, but I kept holding out hope that there would some catch that would keep her in the zone of "morally grey." She's always going to be one of my favorite characters, though. I'm pretty psyched to see how it all ends.
Damn Blizzard, you're becoming lazy with your storytelling.
The power of the horde
The hole "War of Thorns" is a big letdownNeither did we kill Malfurion nor was "how burned the damm tree" intresting nor a "risked taking" step by blizz.on the other hand her main point was the "break" the spirit. And your "oh my honor" didnt finished his job ... "You can kill us, but you cannot kill hope" well you dared her .... dont try to play chicken with Sylvanas =)Concusion... This happend because of 2 people .... Saurfang and Miss "You Dont Dare"AS a explanation:This War was to break the spirit by kill Malfurion and take the Tree hostageboth didnt work so get the big guns ...My only problem is that an easy way ..... I was hoping that someone of the alliance bruned it and bring some tension into the alliance
I am glad she burned the tree. I thought it was going to be a third party that framed her. Now not only does she burn down the Night Elves' home, she also gets to ruin the Undercity, killing Alliance in the process and rendering it useless for the alliance as a foothold. Moral of this cinematic: Keep you mouth shut. The Night Elf tried to teach Sylvanas a lesson and look what happened. I don't think this outcome is really any different than her capturing the tree. People are upset that a few civilians were killed in Ashenvale...what do you think would have happened if she occupied Teldrassil? I think us Horde are going to have to try and embrace the villain role for a little while, but I smell a pretty big redemption for Sylvanas. Like sacrificing herself in some big fashion to save the world from the Void or the Old Gods. I can't see Blizzard going "FULL Garrosh." I think she will die,(after all the things she's done the Alliance wont be happy until she's dead), but it will be on her own terms and she will actually show the love of her people in the end. I hope she makes it through, but I don't think that's a realistic expectation at this point. So until then...For the Horde! For the Banshee Queen! And to all you people hoping for peace between the factions...I hope you are wrong. This game would be weird with anything more than a temp cease-fire for the good of the world. What would happen to PVP? Just fer funzies capture the flag now? No. This is a stupid idea and I hope all you hippies stay outa War Mode and outa my way.
If BFA turns out to be MoP 2 it will be worse than Warlords
Gotta say I hate this alot here is a few reasons1 Compared to the Jania one this is just... about a 2 on a scale of 102 While the artwork is beautiful its telling us Sylvanas change into the banshee again3 REALLY hammering into us the horde are Evil here, thanks Blizzard4 way to go down the obvious route, I would of liked more a third party behind the burning or even an Alliance leader just to add some drama to a faction which sorely needs some drama and character development
blizzard = worst writhers in the history of fiction ever.Garrosh 2.0 her we come. sighAnd they don't dare to though there precious alliance characters
FFS is that all it takes for you to not want to play a faction? Jesus Christ, you people.
