6+ years to develop the game and it gets shipped with things such as camera zoom or more than 4 stash tabs significantly impacting performance? They are about to double the mob density in dungeons, how exactly is this different than increasing the field of view by 30%?
People are overreacting, the current zoom is fine.
And hackers play with zoomed out camera just fine literally since first day of release with close to 0 (if not 0) performance impact. Okay Blizzard very cool.
Jesus &*!@ing christ what the !@#$ is wrong with the infrastructure of diablo 4? Why do they make the most bizarre changes and give cryptic responses. Can't have too much stash space because for some dumb ass reason we load other players' stash when they are on our screen. Can't zoom out without the game apparently breaking on us (despite the game already zooming us out under certain conditions ala world bosses) Blizzard inexplicably changing teleporting out of a dungeon from 3-5 seconds, giving a word vomit response, coming back a week later reversing the change while once again giving a word vomit response that just raises more questions They can't add a search bar until at least season 2+ ?Still nooo loadouts for the game so changing builds is a nightmare I genuinely don't understand what's happening. Did the higher up suits employ psychologists who are trying to minmax engagement while making the game as insufferable as possible and the devs are trying to cover their asses?
Zooming out will load even more stashes...
I'm not really upset about the current zoom, but I'd be happy with just the zoom level we have when mounted. That seems to work fine and doesn't change my performance at all. I don't see a good reason we can't just have that. Also while I don't really want to glorify hackers, they are playing with crazy zoomout and none of the footage I've seen looks to show any performance issues associated with it. If it's really that much of a concern then lock it behind a checkbox in the video settings with the help text that higher zoomout may cause performance trouble. Maybe limit it on Xbox One/PS4 if it's a concern there.I just don't see a compelling case for it being a performance issue. That said I never would have imagined in my wildest dreams that I was loading every item in every stash of every player I walked past, so I guess anything is possible.
Surely everything is already rendered thats just off screen. Would it really be that bad?Hell there's plenty of times where the game zooms out and the game plays just fine.My guess was that if it's closer in you'll see your character more, makes selling cosmetics easier for them.
Not only that dungeon but also the world boss. I 2nd the mounted zoom level, and I agree that four stash tabs are absolute bull for something that has been in the works for so long.
I am the opposite. I hate being zoomed out in games because I spent a lot of time customizing my character and I want to be able to look at him. Plus I hate having to strain my eyes when everything is so tiny when zoomed out. We don’t need the ability to zoom out more, they just need to limit the possibility of getting one shot from off screen. The best way to do that is to simply remove those stupid skeletons strapped to a ballista. Whoever came up with that toxic mob just needs to suck it up and delete it from the game, it was a terrible idea and should have never made it into the game in the first place.
First that explaination for the stash space, now this. :'D
"Performance ramifications" is a pretty entertaining reason considering my FPS actually increases while the camera is zoomed out. From 130ish when reg to high 140s while zoomed out.
Thanks console gamers. >:(
Why are they catering to old systems? its holding the game back..
