I like to read these complaints about cap in week, when mythic raid is released. I am for the cap (maybe not the amount) idea for a very simple reason. And that is, without cap m+ players can endlessly run keys, get valor and upgrade to max ilvl their items, while raiders are dependent on raid loot drop, that can be acquired only once a week. So.... This cap has very simple reason - to make sure m+ do not upgrade all their items in 1st, max 2nd week of season, while raiders are left with 1 to 3 (if lucky, maybe 4 - if very lucky) items per week.
Caps reduce the gap between people who can play 16 hours a day and people who have jobs and families. It also means you don't have to choose between tuning the game to be trivial to people who no-life the game or being inaccessibly difficult to people who only have a few hours a night. Not having infinite grinds also helps discourage unhealthy behavior for some people.
It would be so good to finally end this toxic connection between raids and m+ and have them be fully separated from each other. I am so utterly tired of having to constantly aruge for m+ just to make it not feel utterly useless even compared to normal raids like in season 3. If ppl dislike the cap, idk what will they say when the brave hc raiders will start to practically brute force m+ with their shiny tier set (aka plain cheat) and phase out m+ only players from the content until the end of the season.
Way too low weekly cap. Stop this timegating. It should be at least 1500/week if not more.Tier sets crafting timegated, valor upgrades timegated... WTF really?
m+ facerollers whining about blizz only thinking about raids LOL. you shoulnt get the best gear anyway
All these anti-cap players have such bad takes it's hilarious.
Weekly Valor cap does that mean if I farm 1500 valor first week second week I can farm 2250 valor or only 750. Because this sounds like you can farm 2250
Will just stop when i hit cap as every other season. Thx blizz for thinking of my wellbeing :).
Pretty sure the primary reason for caps and raid lockouts existing is because its a sub based payment model. A non-insignificant portion of the player-base only play for the rewards they get, not the content itself. You need some mechanism to stop players like that getting everything they want in a couple weeks and then moving on to another game.
Everyone saying that this is a bad choice is either delusional or dumb...The caps are directly made so that people cant blitz it minute one and gatekeep arenas by being fully geared out in all their Best in Slot gear and dumpster people so effortlessly. And the arena gear as is will be strong enough to contend with mythic gear as far as stats are concerned due to scaling, so this is balanced. It's not that they are gatekeeping or timegating you on how much you play, they are making it so people all have a fair chance.
