Wowhead's Diablo 4 Build Planner is newly updated for Vessel of Hatred, with a clean new UI, Mercenary support, and Runeword support!
We’ve updated our
Build Planner
with data for Season 6 and Vessel of Hatred - this includes updates to skills, new Paragon tweaks, Mercenary trees, and of course, Runewords! These updates will allow players to prepare and plan out builds they’d like to dive into when Vessel of Hatred launches and beyond.
to use our fully interactive Build Planner for each class!
Whether you want to take a look at the new Mercenaries and both their active and Reinforcement abilities or are looking to experiment with Runeword combinations on different gear slots, we've got you covered.
Keep in mind that while some of the data in the planner is outdated, we'll update the information once Vessel of Hatred is live and we can import the data from Patch 2.0.2.
We're constantly working on ways to update our planners to bring the most to players looking to maximize their classes.
Newly added to the Build Planner is the ability to create paper doll items as well - once players choose their Legendary Aspect, a new menu will allow you to select Masterworking level, affixes, Tempers, Greater Affixes, and more. Create powerful Runewords using this new tool, and explore Nahantu in search of Neyrelle with ease!

Pretty nice!
Some suggestions:
When adding affixes or tempers, when you click the dropdown it would be nice for there to be a search field that is instantly focused in which you can filter the list to find what you need (the gems dropdown has this already, just need to add as focus hijack)
For the gems and runes, the dropdown actually isn't great. Especially on unique items or after you've added affixes and tempers the values occupy a large area and the dropdown list becomes quite small. Because of this you'll pretty easily scroll the page instead of the list. I think here a different design would be better. Perhaps a full grid modal that overlays the entire right side in which you can choose your runes. (Hope this explanation is clear enough). It's a lesser issue on items that can only have gems, but for items that can contain runes going down the list to read the runes is a bit cumbersome.
For the Masterworking levels, an extra button to max it out would be convenient rather than clicking + 12 times.
I was momentarily confused as to to the meaning of the circle, triangle and star icons on the affixes. I figured it out, and once you know you know, but thought i'd mention it. I think just adding a html title attribute here would help. Changing the text color to blue/yellow/orange on the affixes could also be a nice touch.
One additional thing that would be nice is some sort of high contrast viewing mode for the paragon board (not necessarily for the builder, but more so for the viewer). Basically what i have in mind is hide (or dim more aggressively than current) everything that is not selected and only show the path taken. For me the easiest paragon build viewer to copy from the page to the game and not lose track of where i am is the one from mobalytics. The one on here is more true to the actual design in-game, which is great for the builder, but it's not the most clear design to reference.
I think Wowhead should also consider doing something with build tier lists on the main page. Everyone has their opinion about these but i think it is undeniable that the community wants and looks for this, and this is currently something that is missing here and likely holding back popularity. Especially because all the rest of the tooling here is in my opinion the best.
Perhaps underneath each button leading to the class builds directly link to two or three builds with a S-A-B-C-D denomination in front of it.
Anyway, great work!

Pretty nice!
Some suggestions: <snip>
I sincerely appreciate the time you took to think this through and type it all out. This is our first release of this revamp, and we have a lot more planned. All but one of your suggestions are already in the backlog, and the "max it" button for Masterworking should probably be there too. Thanks!!
