Also a case of dead servers issue me thinks
why do they always make pathetic excuses? how come wrath never lost this many subs despite the 10 month gap between the last boss of icc being released and cata? also, many who bought d3 ended up coming back to wow within the month. these subs only vindicate the wrath model for raiding. but then blizz gets what it deserves for listening to those special snowflakes who want less people to raid so that their achievements will not be 'devalued'.as for panda bears solving all the problems, blizz just better not screw up the difficulty again, like what they did in cata. on the other hand if mop does bomb, at least there will be a high chance blizz will sack ghostcrawler. it was only 2 months after cata when subs started to fall.also, why cant this posted like how mmo champion does it. they post it in a way that does not take sides and is very informative.
Hmm.. Cata was quite boring, too less stuff to do, but in MoP, the new ways you gain reputation or get a mount ( by growing it) makes the game much more interesting, and special, Cata had nothing special. I bet they made Cata cheap to waste more on MoP :) Ive read already so much, there will be endless stuff to do in Pandaria, now i worry how i am gonna get all those achievements, mounts and pets :D
OMG WOW IS DYING!LOL.I'm not reading the comments, sorry, already know them all. ;)
9million subs is nothing to think about....tell me when they get down to 1 million subs left...anways, MERGE servers(small pop-med pop)!
love what you do, do what you love!

Couple things here. First, I still would love to see detailed breakdown of subscription data. I am sure Blizz knows the details (any good company knows exactly where its money is comming from.). I would like regional breakdowns of subs, and at least a good "estimate" of players with multiple accounts. A little more in depth, I would like to see subs catagorized by "average play time". In other words, a true picture of what the health of the game really is. 9.2 million is still a huge number...on paper. But how many of those are Chineese? (I don't exactly discount players from China, but because they have such a different price structure, and they are still behind the rest of the world as far as expansions and such, I think they should be in a seperate catagory). Seeing multiple account holders...especially multiple, multiple, multiple account holders gives an idea of another "niche" market. And, most importantly, a breakdown of how many account holder are actually "playing the game" would be nice. Just having an account does not really make you a part of the game if you don't play, or only log in for a few minutes a week to check mail, or say "hi" to guildies. As for MoP, that is the huge unknown. Of course it will bring back players, unlike past expansions, I really think it will also push away a large enough number of players, that their could be a measurable offset in the numbers. I still think that when the smoke clears, that WoW will level out at around 5-7 million subs. If China accounts for 2-3 million of those (just a guess), that leaves 3-4 million active, "normal" subs. Which, while still a massive, respectable number, is far from the peak of 12 million.
Just wait till 8/28 when loads of people leave for a quality game.
