How is that much better? Same "problem" with a different number of hours. Just count who does is first from servers opening whenever that is
I dint really understood his 2nd option but I got it from your explanation, thing is, it's just shortening the gap when close kills will still be an issue.It's impossible to get everyone around the world on a equal footing for a race
I have always found these discussions interesting. Curious, even. Personally, I would like the fights to be more "dynamic." No timed abilities, perhaps some delineated phases, but abilities and their use drawn from a pool which occur as the encounter progresses - dare I say, randomized? It would be even better if boss encounters reacted dynamically to group make up offering abilities that can be countered and mitigated by certain class specific abilities and some that specifically can't. Would be harder to program? Sure. Would it make it more interesting as people aren't preparing for a specific set of circumstances? Most definitely.
