My thing is that they essentially have four months left to get the expansion polished up and working. In which historically speaking this simply hasn't been to be case and it's taken a year or more for the expansion to finally be in a good spot. I am still skeptical, given we still don't have a beta which I imagine won't release until a couple weeks after they finally implement DH's into the alpha. Which means the beta is more than likely going to release mid September to early October. Which means the deadline for DF will essentially be 3-3.5 months which is a very short amount of time to make sure everything is running smoothly. In which I can also guess their going to go for a November release probably, if not right before or after Christmas in December. All in all I have a feeling it's going to be delayed by a month or two, as they have to knock it out of the park this time. Retail is limping along post SL's with streamers and high end players and guilds quitting left and right. If it flops again it's just going to be the next nail in the coffin for the game as a whole.
i do belive it will be on time. Cause they are having less things to testing. There is no covanents, or any other borowed power, or torgast, or conduits.. All is new dragonriding and 8 dungeons which have to be tested. and 4 old one for season one .... i mean not a lot of things.. So yea i belive there is not gonna be issue, also if is gonna be posponed for a month there is no harm, i dont belive so it it will happen since they only lets us have 3 dinars so one month we are gonna have all raids up, if they planed to pospone it they would give us more Dinars ... I mean it can happen but 100% will not happen since i did all quests in alpha without any issues. Ofc i there was one or two that needed to be reported but couple of days ago i tryed them again and now they are working so i belive all it will be fine and non belivers can start to Breath once again
So far every community skepticism about Dragonflight gets blown away. First it was "alpha won't be ready" then it was surprisingly ready. Then it was "dragon riding won't be good" and turns out you can have a dungeon with it. Then "there won't be anything to do" and surprise, there's a ton of new kinds of world content and seems very alt friendly. Now it's back to "won't be ready" with a side of "oh no holiday raiding". The only thing I'm honestly worried about is the talent system, I think it's revealed some classes had a lot of good abilities and customizations to play with, and some felt pretty bare bones once you peeled away borrowed power. Ion gave reassurances for this in the interview, but I still feel like they won't have the bandwidth to really fill the gaps the last 3 expansions' systems left in the class design.
Launch date november 17th. Let that sink. Not even 3 months.
The video is from from the 20th of August. Why is it getting here now? I mean, the release date leaks were shown here quite some time ago as well, so having this video up now seems just so wasteful.
From what I've seen so far the game is pretty much finished and they have more than enough time to polish it up before end of the year. Talents are obviously the main concern but they have been very active with changing things and listening to feedback (for most classes) and they have already gotten to numbers tuning with some classes. Ion has said it himself, 100% of dev time is focused on talent trees and there are no other systems for them to work on.
At this point I'm mostly worried about the talent trees. I main druid and so far ours are mostly copy paste from BFA and SL, including all the existing issues and creating a few new ones. Current eclipse system is so bad we're better off ignoring it a good part of the time, and feral has been a literal meme for years. Even resto, which I think is in better shape, has some really weird issues. Like you can actually pick three talents to improve wild growth before you can get wild growth lol. And can we stop trying to make nourish a thing? It's not happening.
I have a new theory which is that they are intentionally holding off on beta as long as they can. But not because it isn’t ready but because they don’t want to deal with the poop show that is the players feedback. I’m not saying the feedback isn’t good it’s just like a drinking from a firehoseI got beta for shadowlands submitted feedback every single day and none of those things got implemented. They were widely accepted ideas. Like how terrible the maw was. And tips for torghast So I think dragonflight is almost done. They will release beta with minimum feedback window just to say they did it and then release.
it could've be announced in This year's Gamescon
Release it when its ready. If its good business sense to release in November then that should be the ultimate decision. If push comes to shove unlock mythics after New Years.
I'd rather wait for something finished and functional than get a broken game on time.
The later the better, even if it comes in 2023, hopefully not earlier than late nov 2022.
is a raid Being released during the holidays REALLY that big of deal people ... come on get a life So what if u don't get to the raid until after the holidays
I still think it's a filler addon because they didnt show pretty much. OR they will tell us November/December that they need more time.^^ Since SL I'm not even hyped anymore.. I don't expect anything till I see it live.
