These changes with curses are not good. its another GCD and i can't stress it enough. None of those curses are long enough for them to not be in the rotation. 10 seconds on some of them. they will need reapplied as much as corruption or agony thus making them a non damaging other class boosting abilities that clogs up the GCD.The addition of having UA not stack and have it prolonged does not change the issue of being GCD capped for multi-target situations. AC was to help the aff lock but since u generate no soul shards off it, u thus get gcd capped by forcing u to spread agony to ur targets to get the shards u need. Curses need to be applied like how the DH brand or the monks debuff gets applied, passivly. pick the curse u want to apply then when u deal damage it applies that curse, not like this where u will have to add another non damage spell into your rotation. curses are short and are not going to be a 3 min spell that use once or twice. to get the full value its going to be re-applied repeatidly in the fight thus removing a dps ability like stacking ua's and replacing that with a non damaging ability. its frankly dumb and backwards progress. curses RP and the idea is great this implementation as states so far is not going to do well.
Who the hell asked for these lame ass curses back? We need MOP Warlock back. The ability to cast while moving was the greatest time ever, and you could also tank 5 mans as Demonology. Those were the days.
Finally!Focusing solely on demons or corruption never felt right for warlocks! These curses have always been a crucial part of the class fantasy!
I love we are getting curses back as warlocks but I still miss that they have not given us back hellfire as a aoe. Especially as Destro our main aoe costs 3 soul shards and another has to be talented into. I do miss the days when warlocks could hellfire an entire legacy raid but again I am glad we are getting curses back into our kit for certain situations.
I agree a big problem with affliction warlock right now is the total lack of interaction between spells, if they bring back stuff that was in the old affliction talent trees like auto refresh for certain dots, soul swap to spread easily dots on targets, curses almost off GCD etc. they could make the spec way more enjoyable, malefic rapture and the maybe now already dead soul wrack spells they announced seem to be just what we need.SOUL SWAP BACK PLEASE
I still think warlock deals should be more like hunter pet taming: If I see a cool looking demon I should be able to bargain with it for its services. Just classify them in specs like pets and we're good. I can almost see related patch notes: - Archimonde (Hellfire Citadel - Draenor) is now available for recruitment.
There was a time, perhaps before you started playing, that the curses and buffs didn't trigger gcd. I wouldn't worry just yet.I've been playing lock forever felt the class lost some utility and a lot of flavor when curses were taken away.
I hope warlocks and other casters get to use two schools of magic again, instead of having only shadow, fire, frost, or etc. I enjoyed the mechanic of having to resort to fire spells after getting shadow locked.
