Yeah it's a retexture but I kinda love it. Besides, from what we've seen the mount models that appear in the shop eventually make their way into an xpac. Skyreaver and fey drake were Draenor. Windsteed and vulpine Shadowlands.Speaking of, they removed the Windsteed a bit ago and I'm so glad i snagged it before hand. Prob my fave shop mount, which is like, picking your favourite type of poison, but, you know.
Arrghahahahaha ! Ohhh how I thrive in the envy of those who bought the Vulpin back when it first came ! The Irony! :D
I own the shop mount and I see zero issue with this. First, likely won't fly, and even if it did, good! People who can't afford to spend money on cosmetics deserve nice things too. Second, it's quite distinct, having not only very different colors but a pattern that makes it look like a different creature entirely, not to mention that unsaddled mounts have always been highly sought after for their natural look.As long as they give a bit of time to pass inbetween the store release and the recolor getting put ingame there's no problem. I similarly hope people who did not get the deluxe variant get a shot at the worm-on-a-string mount that came with it, maybe in a different color. Here's to hoping that they will eventually continue this trend with the gladiator mounts as well. Give people some time to enjoy their exclusive, then allow people to get something similar who did not have the time or money to spend. I personally feel like it's a good enough compromise.
I am happy that this mount is in the game. Really annoying how store mounts have trended toward being unique models (or have obvious leanings that they should have come from in-game content: celestial steed=algalon/heart of the aspects=25H madness of deathwing/grinning reaver=laughing skull clan/fey dragon=council of exarchs). I would prefer no store mounts. But if blizzard insists on having store mounts than the model uniqueness has to go away at some point to allow for people to earn something similar in game.
thats a slap in the face who bought the store mount. srsly they cant use a model from the store ingame as mount.
I have the shop one and I can't wait to get this one!Hoping they come out with even more colors to match the new Hunter pets. =D
Cool they finally added a new fox mount ingame
Well, I like the color! I really want these mounts! But while playing my vulpera alt... wouldn't riding that mount be like playing a human who rides another human who can't speak and maybe is not able to solve a puzzle? *insert_thoughtful_smiley* Maybe in a future expansion ("WoW Hunter & Gatherer") we do more time travel things... and we get neanderthal human mounts! :D "Go left, Woowoo!" "Ugh ugh ugh" "Jump, Woowoo!" "Uuuuughoop" :D
I'm sorry if this sounds harsh but good. You should feel cheated because you already were in the first place. Paying extra money to the company for a mount they made in a game that you already paid to purchase and then paid them a monthly fee intended to cover ADDED CONTENT is a gross practice that should not be supported ever. We already paid them to make that mount and now you can only have it if you pay them again. It's an ugly business model that treats it's customers like brainless wallets to milk money from.
Will never understand the rage that store mounts produce. It is a choice after all. If you want them... then buy them... if you don't then don't. Same goes for the Trading Card Game mounts... if you where able to get them back in the day it was a choice to add to your collection. In the end I see no problem with these "extra" mounts. If anything I wish there where many many more available. As far as reskins/recolor variations... the more the merrier. I again don't understand the complaints. I will admit to a certain Boar overload from WoD... but it wasn't keeping me up at night. In the end... the whole point is to have fun playing the game... and mounts (and to lesser degree Toys/Pets) are an excellent incentive/reward for players to work toward. I wish Blizzard would increase the amount of mount rewards to give us more to do when there are content droughts. Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.
I think timeframe matters when it concerns recolors. Netherwings had a bunch of recolors. They released together and at the same time. This was widely approved of.Panther mounts in MoP released together and as a bunch of recolors. Much the same reception. However releasing yet another modified wolf, horse, or drake of the winds with a slightly different color scheme years after the initial introduction is just farcicle. It's the appearance of creating something new but with a fraction of the necessary work. If you were going to release multiple recolors of these mounts, they all should have came out together and around the same time. No way it took the team years to get around to finishing these recolors.
