DISCLAIMER: 8.3 Story Spoilers below! Don't read on if you don't wanna be spoiled!
To unlock the Vulpera as an Allied Race, you first need to complete the tasks below. All of them are completable as of right now on live! You can use our updated
Attunement Tool
to check in your progress to unlock Vulpera.
Secrets in the Sands
requires completion of the Vol'dun storyline, which should take several hours to complete.
Exalted with the
Voldunai
may take several weeks to obtain, as you can only earn a limited amount of reputation per time with World Quests and Emissaries. Reference the
Voldunai Reputation Guide
for details on how to obtain reputation.
The Caravan in Orgrimmar
The Vulpera questline starts at the Orgrimmar Embassy with
Guests at Grommash Hold
, where Ji Firepaw mentions of a caravan that is currently stationed near Grommash Hold.
At Grommash Hold, Kiro is there and starts the quest
A Declaration of Intent
. Kiro announces to the newly-formed Horde Council that the Vulpera seek to join the Horde.
Amidst complaints from other racial leaders, Baine Bloodhoof Baine respectfully declines, as the Horde needs all the resources it can currently gather for its current allies and would be stretched too thin to accommodate the Vulpera at this point.
Kiro: High Chieftain Bloodhoof. I am Kiro, and I speak for the vulpera of Vol'dun. We seek to join the Horde.
Kiro: Long have we survived amidst the sands, without a thought of what lies beyond them. But the Horde has shown us that there is more to life than mere survival.
Kiro: If you'll have us, we would explore the world by your side.
Baine Bloodhoof: Though I am honored by your request to join us, I am afraid that I must decline.
Baine Bloodhoof: Meeting the needs of our current allies has stretched the Horde thin. It would be unwise for us to take your people under our wing.
Baine Bloodhoof: But please, enjoy the hospitality of Orgrimmar as our guests. Horde or not, the vulpera will always be welcome here.
Kiro: I understand. Thank you for your time, High Chieftain.
Kiro is disappointed at Baine's answer, but hatches a plan that should prove to Baine the value of the Vulpera - In
New Allies, New Problems
, Kiro tells you to talk to each racial leader to see what troubles them, and if the Vulpera are able to help somehow.
Bladeguard Sonji: De naga have been advancing on Zuldazar's shores. We must push dem back before dey pose a greater threat!
First Arcanist Thalyssra: Baine sent assistants to Suramar to aid with our arcwine production but managing them has proven... difficult.
Commander Dresh: Our Crushblow outpost was undergoing construction, but the people suddenly vanished. I need them to get back to work!
Kiro agrees that all problems need to be solved, no matter how small, and in
No Problem Too Small
, we head to Twilight Highlands to help solve the Mag'har Orc problem, which Nisha is sent to Zuldazar to help with the Naga problem, and Meerah is sent to Suramar to help with arcwine production.
Helping the Mag'har Orcs
In Twilight Highlands, the Crushblow outpost is indeed abandoned, just like Commander Dresh reported. However, he noticed the weapon hilts used to build the outpost still had sweat stains, so the workers must not been gone for long, so in
Where Are The Workers?
, he sends Sasha to track their scent. The scent leads them to a Wildhammer Dwarf settlement, where the peons are protesting!
Foreman Magrok: Throw down your tools and raise up your fists!
Crushblow Peon: Yeah!
Crushblow Peon: Yeah!
Foreman Magrok: What's that? Someone from Orgrimmar?
Foreman Magrok: Are you finally ready to hear our demands?
---
Crushblow Peon: Tools broken. Had to use hands. Now they break too!
Crushblow Peon: Peons treated like da poop. Never getting nothing nice.
Foreman Magrok: When I'm warchief, peons will be respected members of the Horde!
Crushblow Peon: Always been a peon. Never nothing else. Maybe want more?
Kiro shows surprise that it actually took this long for the peons to feel undervalued and revolt. We then prepare a feast by gathering wildlife meats for them to feel valued in
A Little Goodwill
, gather special ore to repair their tools in
Worthwhile Repairs
, and give promotions to a few peons in
Peon Promotions!
.
After all quests are done, it is time to throw our feast in
A Party in Your Honor!
Kiro prepares the feast while you invite Foreman Magrok and the Crushblow Peons for the feast in their honor. The final part of Kiro's plan involves showing the peons strength and honor by challenging Foreman Magrok to a battle in
Strength and Honor
. After the skirmish is done, report back to Commander Dresh in Orgrimmar in
Job's Done
.
Commander Dresh: Work has resumed, High Chieftain, I'm pleased to see the Horde takes these issues seriously.
Baine Bloodhoof: We do, Commander. But I cannot take credit for this fortunate turn of events.
Helping the Zandalari Trolls
With the Mag'har plight solved, it is time to check on Nisha in Zuldazar's shores in
On the Outskirts
. In Zuldazar, Nisha reports that the naga are restless, but she has hatched a plan to stop them in their tracks. However, quick work is necessary.
You are then sent to collect naga weaponry in
We'll Use Their Weapons
, plant explosives around the shore in
Explosions Always Work
, and destroy naga power cells that are keeping their leader protected in
Destroying the Source
.
After all quests are done, it is time to take down the naga leader in
Taking Out The Tidecaller
- Simply head to the leader's location with Nisha and destroy Tidecaller Nezara.
With the Naga leader defeated, it is time to return to Orgrimmar and report your success to Bladeguard Sonji in
Threat Contained
!
Bladeguard Sonji: Thank you for dealing with dis matter swiftly. De Zandalari are fortunate to have such dependable allies.
Baine Bloodhoof: This was not my doing, Sonji. But I am grateful that the threat has been dealt with.
Helping the Nightborne
With the Zandalari problem solved, it is time to help the Nightborne! Head to the Twilight Vineyards in Suramar to
Meet with Meerah
. Meerah assesses that the vineyards have some serious staff issues, and we check on their staff in
The Vintner's Assistants
. One of these new assistants is our good, fire-happy friend, Nomi!
It seems like the lead vintner did not assign good roles to his new assistants, and we assign better positions to them in
Playing to Their Strengths
. Boss Mida and Kazit are now assigned to finding ingredients, playing to the resourcefulness of goblins. Micah Broadhoof is now assigned to stomping the wine, using of the Highmountain Tauren's strong hooves. Nomi, with his vast culinary knowledge, is now assigned to actually researching and creating new arcwine recipes!
After new positions are assigned, it is time to actually change the arcwine recipe so it is palatable to the entire Horde in
A Particular Process
. Nomi assesses that the ancient Nightborne recipe does not need many changes for it to become wine worthy of the Horde, and sends you to collect a few extra ingredients in Fermented for the Horde - Fermented Firebloom, which can be purchased from Boss Mida, and Silkwing Fibers, which can be gathered from the moths around the vineyard.
After Nomi's wine is complete, it is time to seek the Vintner's approval in
Sip and Savor
.
Vintner Iltheux holds the glass up to the light and swirls it around.
Vintner Iltheux: Hmm. A decent color. And it has legs.
Vintner Iltheux sticks his nose into the glass and inhales deeply.
Vintner Iltheux: Such a fragrant bouquet!
Vintner Iltheux sips the wine.
Vintner Iltheux: Exquisite! I couldn't have done better myself.
A new Arcwine recipe developed, you will receive the new toy
Nomi's Vintage
and a quest to return to Orgrimmar in
Awaiting our Arrival
.
Vulpera, Part of the Horde
Returning to Orgrimmar, Baine finally welcomes the vulpera to the Horde in
New Allies Among Us
, pointing that the Horde has problems even in times of peace and everyone must band together to solve them.
Baine Bloodhoof: Kiro. I must apologize for so hastly dismissing you earlier.
Baine Bloodhoof: The Horde endures because we band together in times of adversity.
Baine Bloodhoof: Though I turned you away, you selflessly came to our aid. Just as you did in Vol'dun.
Baine Bloodhoof: Such is the true spirit of the Horde. If you still desire to join us, you would be most welcome within our ranks.
Kiro: It would be our honor, High Chieftain.
Baine Bloodhoof: Then it is decided. From this day forth, the vulpera of vol'dun are allies of the Horde!
With this, the Vulpera are unlocked as an allied race! You will receive the
Caravan Hyena
mount as a reward, as well as the achievement
Allied Races: Vulpera
.
Nomi's Vintage Toy
Nomi's Vintage
is a toy that makes you jump forward, without any fall damage taken. It only works in Kul Tiras, Zuldazar and Nazjatar.
