Hopefully this is as close to gryphon flying in GW2 as it looks it is. If yes, it won't be true flight - which is totally fine, but i do hope we get infinite flight at some point.Another thing: ever wonder how World PVP would look like if our flying mounts had stamina bar so you couldn't stay in air 24/7? Think about it.
I dont understand all the people complaining about this. IMO this is how it should work because if regular flying was allowed then the new system would be completely invalidated. At least we actually get flying from day one. People worried about this system have obviously never played minecraft with an elytra+fireworks because that is such a satisfying and fun method of travel, not to mention how much more engaging this will make moving around the zones. It seems people just cant help but hate on stuff that will obviously be fun.
I'm having none of this dragon riding bull#$%^. Flying is flying and this just sounds like flying with extra steps.
I'm still very much unconvinced by this system, especially if there really won't be any traditional flying. It just sounds a lot less convenient. I fly to get from A to B. Sometimes A and B may be quite close to each other and doing dumb soars and twirls costs me more time than the higher fly speed may be able to save. Often I fly longer stretches semi-afk thinking about other stuff. That won't be possible anymore if it is as involved as they claim it to be.
Except..... they never said that you can't fly with your regular mounts in this interview.
I had a thought. It would be a big change but what if this changes the traditional flight master system? I know they said they thought about putting this kind of thing in other areas too.
Not a fan of this like one bit. Collector players screwed yet again. Why on earth can't this apply to all flying mounts? I assume the answer is "animations" which equals time which equals money.
Glad to see the WoW Team apparently watched or played some GW2 and decided to make a WoW version of the S$%^cale (and / or Gryphon ?) and their mechanics. x) I honestly look forward to this - flying in GW2 is fun and engaging because of those limitations (and I'll definitely not miss the grind that GW2 requires you to do to gain those mounts).
This is the same people who thought not be able to use mounts in the maw would be fun
But but but... I'm a druid... I hate to cast my mount... What's the point anymore...
Misleading post, there is no confirmation about not having regular flying in the expansion yet. At start yes, it will be only dragonriding, but later we will probably have regular flying, just like every other expansion with pathfinder.
Features looks nice but kinda cringe it makes all the other mounts obsolete
It's fine if you want to restrict flying at first, to get people aquinted with the new system, and get enough upgrades so they actually would be faster with the new system then with the old one.BUT THEN UNLOCK THE OLD ONE FOR THE SAKE OF CHOICE. Like people collected hundreds of mounts, and a large portion of them looks utterly stupid on ground (the @#$%ing Rogue class mount doenst even have ground animatons, and i LOVE THAT RAVEN). I'm so annoyed when they try to do this. It's the same sh** that they tried to pull in WoD with the train (thank god the train never got made so we actually got flying eventuly). This is again something that people will be annoyed with, start like 100 reddit threads about it, and then the devs will be like "okey i guess" and they will unlock the normal flying begrudingly in 10.2 anyways. FFS why do we have to go trough with this #$%^ every damn time.
Would really love to see this as a standard from now on .. let the old flyers be used in the old content ... and let us have this from now on...Elytra+rocket from Minecraft, Rock Drake from Ark among others... I love it!
