Honestly I'm completely ok with this... there's way too much of "the customer is always right" and "fix it for the customer" these days and the fact that Blizz is biting back at this shady AF move by the gifter just means they're willing to stand up to the hoaxers and tell them to F***-Off. In all reality... the item was purchased and then refunded, no you don't have a right to the purchased items anymore. IF they were a gift and IF your gifter asked for a refund 10 months later... you should take it up with them not Blizz.
oof
Hello Blizzard. I would like to return the subscription time i have paid for all these years in exchange for the disabling of my account. Thanks.
I've edited the original post regarding two things, edit is live on wowhead too.
You would be surprised what shady people will try and refund... it comes down to what is being returned and what the extenuating circumstances are and COVID-19 throws a lot of that out of wack. My opinion on it is (as a person who pre-purchased SL many months ago) its something I've waited this long for and I'm more than willing to wait a little longer for a more finished product. In the event my game were refunded by the person who gifted it to me, I'd be more than happy to cover the cost of the game because I enjoy playing it. However, that may not be the case for this person.
I see a lot of people making comparisons to things ranging from jackets to books or to whatever given as gifts being same as a gifted account. The problem is that we don’t own our accounts as you would the jacket or book. It’s says so in the Terms of Use. To make it simple: you can’t sell the account you access as you can a jacket or book.We can argue all day what our opinions are in terms of morals and whatnot, but the only facts here are the person who bought the account upgrade (which is owned by Blizzard) is able to get a refund for the product (from Blizzard). This Reddit post shouldn’t be a shock to anyone.
I don't think Blizzard should even have offered the refunds. This wasn't a delay relative to the date promised at purchase. As long as it releases this year, they met their obligations.Unless... they don't really think it'll release this year.
Be warned refunding causes your account to become in bad standing, it causes varying issues and expires within time. Do not refund unless you okay with being locked out of potential things for 6 months like the newcomers program potentially.
Just so everyone knows. The guildie that received the gift gave that person a gift irl. The only difference is he can't go and take the physical present back as he would be arrested so this ToS of Blizzard should be changed. Or the word gift should be changed imo......this guildie is also still studying but an excellent and dedicated wow player and they are taking the side of the person not playing wow at all. I will now never buy anyone a gift anymore from Blizzard.
ohh damn game got delayed so that they can fix the problems and make it better make it work.. fine Other people: ohh damn better refund the company is dying the game is dying man i need my money back so i might not loose it. just to buy it again at a later time.......Never understood this mentality of refunding something just to buy it a month later again or such? This is legit stupdity, its delayed a while, loads of huge content creators that actualy play beta and know whats up has asked for a delay just to get it working wich is fine, but they havent canceled it they just delayed so it can get some more polish....what would u rather get, a working car a bit later then u thought or a car that aint working swires of the road and kills u after 10 minutes...personaly id take the delayed working car but hey might just be meI mean if they would have relesed it broken people would wine and cry, if they delay it to make it work, people wine and cry.No mather what they do people wine and cry, its beena damn !@#$ed up year for everyone including the poor people working their asses of making the game, give em some props for the work they have done instead of cry about a minor delay and ask for your money back, delay aint the same as canceled product...
kinda agree with u, if u gift it its done deal its given away, that they should not be alowed to refund, i mean u dont go to a friend and give him a pair of underwear and then 10 months later, hey you know those underwear, id like them back...a gift is a gift its given u gave it away, you didnt lend it u GAVE it :P
