I hate this. Another forced grind for raiders. Not to mention that Maw zone sucks, has flying and even ground disabled, so you have no way to speed up your grind.
The conduit upgrade is quite obviously meant to be catch up or slow progression in power for those who don't do high end content for the higher ranks. Pretending this is the end all be all way you can level up conduits is inane. Want the higher level versions of the conduits you prefer using? Go do the higher level content their ranks come from. Wnat to fill out you missing conduit slots and level up the ones you don't have high up yet? This is gonna smooth out that curve for you. Can't or don't want to do higher level content? This will slowly but surely get you them all up there.That is it, that is the sole role this item plays in Conduits, lets not pretend the sky is falling and this is somehow the only way to get them up to the current cap nor the intended way to do it.
rip
You'd think these peoples livelihoods are getting ruined by what people are saying in these comments jesus christ... Don't play or buy if you're so distraught ;_;
PLEASE.STOP.MAKING.THESE.UPGRADES.THROW.THIS.SYSTEM.OUT.THE.DOOR.
People need to chill, this is a catch up mechanism not an ap grind.
The Maw is an absolute horror, and not in an "ooh, scary" sort of way. That would at least be cool.No, the Maw is boring, grindy, unsatisfying, and migraine-inducing -- literally, considering the light effects in Ve'nari's cave and the river.As it is, we'll be sent there every single week and then some, to get souls for our covenant sanctums. As things stand right now, the souls are one-click-per-person, so you can be nibbling away at the elite guarding a soul, only to have someone else gank it out from under you; they're not plentiful at all; and most of them cast a fear that means you have to watch them and time when you approach, or you risk being feared into packs of mobs.And those packs? No loot other than stygia. When you die in the Maw, you respawn alive, but you lose half your stygia unless you run back to your body to get it.Plus this is just one more rep grind in a sea of rep grinds. Ve'nari gives two dailies that'll raise your Eye of the Jailer level, just in case you've somehow found a way to enjoy the Maw.The "random upgrade" thing is just the icing on a cake that smells suspiciously like something you'd find Nagrand Cherries in...
The best thing we can do as players is not enter ever to the MAW so they get the message, we wont play the way you want us to play, but that is a commitment from casual to top end players and all realms.This should be proposed from top players and streamers, if no one enters they will notice that 100% guaranted
Is everyone forgetting of the alternative ways of getting and upgrading conduits? You can still target the ones you need using a normal way, it's not mandatory to do the Maw. You'll do it mostly to slot your equipment or as an alternative of getting conduits.
It's the way the game has been going, but I greatly preferred when all these cheesy upgrade systems weren't here and you just got better drops from harder content, supplemented by vendors like Badges and such. I guess I'm getting old or just prefer the old ways, but back in the day you only really needed a spreadsheet to figure out where BiS gear dropped, that was it... now you need the spreadsheet to actually do the math to figure out the best probable drop and how to do it. I'm reserving judgment, maybe this will be smoother than it seems... but I lose hope with each of these systems that's added.
This is cool. I like it.
But the Maw sucks :(
