Blizz for all that is holy please apply this back to prior sets. Like I can understand why individual pieces are not possible but there is no reason why not the ensembles (looks at Path of Ascension).
Just open up mog on all characters regardless of who gets it. It already "works" this way when I loot a random leather helmet on my monk and can mog it on my rogue.I'm fine with doing the requirements again like shilling out 100+ offerings for a different armor type for a given covenant or whatever, but at the end of the day it is purely cosmetic and there isn't even real "prestige" associated with it as it is almost entirely "casual" current content (covenant/rep sets) or old raids where you one shot everything.Just as an added point I am not going to ask for Monks to be able to wear Rogue tier sets or whatever as that should still be a restriction. The only exception to this imo should be if the "off-set" has a majority of the pieces present and that should transfer over. I know off the rop of my head that the Nighthold Druid set is missing like one of Helm/Shoulders (don't remember which) for generic leather and that makes the set "unusable" as they are rather important slots
It's a step in the right direction, but needs to be for legacy content as well.
It is interesting, but ultimately it is just too SMALL START - Ensembles this apply to right now, would likely be for stuff you would easily get if you played other chars. As for older reputation things Timewarped Badge covers quite a lot of it as you can buy reputation badges for most major factions.PvP gear is mostlty covered by Mark of Honor thought there are few Ensembles where items are missing, but you usually can buy those separately so not that big issue.PvE apperances acquisition need lot of re-work.Having Raid ensembles (or even specific items) for Timewarped Badge that would actually be interesting - I have several where I still miss single last items even when I had run some of these plenty of times. It wouldn't even need to be cheap. Same for dungeon gear as well.Alternatively ability to add apperances you get dropped for other classes would solve most of issues (hell make it form of gold sink).
I'm usually not someone who demands things be account wide, I think there is clearly room for character unlocks. But man, this is a good change. Half the time you'd just juggle the currency to your alt anyway to figure it out and when you can't it feels pretty bad. Maybe they will got give us a "dragon isles supplies" box for alts this time though..
Thank god. That's gonna save quite a lot of time.Hope they also do this retroactively for older gear sets.
All restrictions on learning transmog should be lifted. If the item is BoP to you, you should learn it regardless of class or cloth/leather/mail/plate user.
Great change but I want to echo everyone else in saying that this needs to be made retroactive. It’s really baffling that this change wasn’t made ages ago since most MMO’s with a cosmetic collection interface like WoW’s transmog system have long had this as an option (not to mention no armor type restrictions but that’s a whole other can of worms). As a long time WoW player it’s been really frustrating to see over the years how WoW which used to be the trend setter for MMOs has really fallen behind when in comes to character customization and long standing, commonsense quality of life issues. I am glad they appear to have listened to feedback and are finally starting to implement these much changes. Here’s to hoping this sort of thing doesn’t end after DF launches and continues to be part of the game moving forward rather than a ploy to boost re-subs for the new expansion.
I would be 100% more incentivized to do TMOG runs if my character could unlock all armor/weapon types in dungeons/raids and not only just what that class uses.It feels pretty bad to do a run and get tons of drops that I can't unlock; sometimes not even getting a single unlock in a raid run (esp. when you only have 1-2 appearances left to get). There's SO much to do in WoW now they can afford to trim some time down for us collectors. To make it fair they could make it so you only unlock X armor/weapon if you have a character of the same level already on your account. Adds incentive to level more alts.
I like this. I'm ecstatic at the thought of not having to do some things four times just to collect all the ensembles.I wish it was retroactive, or else all legacy dungeons/raids dropped BOA gear so I don't have to repeatedly run every single instance dozens of times on numerous characters for the sake of armor sets and completion.Blizzard, it's nearly 2023 and some of us don't have the time, energy, or patience to keep doing this sort of thing. Please, let us be able to focus on our mains and use them to collect transmog for our alts...Yeah, I know, a tall order. But I burned out in Shadowlands just trying to level up a fourth character, and my other 8 alts really languished because I've lost the ability to run the same dang content over and over and over and over...
If only this worked with the Path of Ascension stuff.
This is a good change but I'm a bit more disappointed than some I think. Would have preferred them to just make the renoun account wide seeing as there are profession related recopies on the vendors as well as crafting is supposedly going to be a huge part of this expansion, would have liked to have had a crack on all of my alts with various professions. Still can of course but there is little chance I'm going to grind out the renoun on multiple characters so I will have to forgo those recopies outside of the very outside chance that these renouns are so engaging to go through I actually want to experience it more than one.
This might be a start for even greater and better transmog changes. After all - gotta collect all the things, but your time investment should be reasonable.
Great change, but I rather it does not apply to past content. Transmog runs with friends is one of the reasons I even do old content anymore.
IIRC, this is how the pre-Legion demon invasion sets worked - you could buy the ensembles for all armor types on one character. At any rate I have all four of them, and I can promise you that I didn’t run invasions on four characters.
